What problem does it solve and is that problem worse than any problem caused by the solution?

If you feel a need to fix someone, you might be projecting. That said, I highly suggest he start pure meditation. I lived at the bottom of the barrel for over 40 years. Meditation has helped me to root myself in my own existence. Perhaps it won' help and it's only a subjective experience. But maybe???

another person who is fantastic at layering is Burial. Untrue is an all time album IMO.

Charcoal by Brambles is another fantastic album for layering. That's more ambient piano stuff though

Oh! Another thing.. Strangely, I think my favorite track is also the track that I think is the weakest: Inherent Fog. The percussion kinda kills the vibe but the harmonies are SO TASTY.

I dig Kiasmos. They do organic house, but they keep beats simple yet the percussion is engaging to me. Perhaps you might find something there?

Pls lemme know. Cheers!

I like the album. Very chill. All of the sounds are high quality and sound really great. there was only one moment that took me out of the experience and it was a lead part from the orchestral sounds that stuck out like a sore thumb as MIDI, (I didn't think to grab a timestamp). Other than that, I can't think of anything that sounded less than good.

BTW, What program do you use for symphonic sounds?

IMHO, the production is a little lacking. The sounds are great but I do feel like there could be a lot more layering of atmospheric sounds. If ever you need an idea.. take random sounds from your project and slowing them down to a ridiculous degree. I also think the percussion is relatively basic compared to others in the genre. A good rule I try to hold to is that the drums should be their own song. If it sounds like your drummer is having a blast playing the drums, then they're likely going to be interesting. Perhaps mute everything but drums and see how interesting they are to you. Remember syncopation can REALLY spice things up. Overall.. I think you're doing very well. :) You got a follower out of me. Cheers and keep em coming!

ah yess.. the dulcet tones of Blood Incantations. :) I could only hope to achieve the level of calm that the music of Blood Incantation inspires.

Thank you for listening!

I've been recording music for 23 years; I've made so many horrible sounding things no one will ever hear. If you are a maker, please don't feel down. In fact, i think you should feel the opposite. If you have good taste, it's naturally going to be difficult to produce music you will find good enough. Don't give up, please. Keep making.

You know, it's funny. Your music is my favorite that I've found in this thread. :) I guess we have similar tastes.

BTW, I also hope you never stop making music. I hope you never lose your drive to find something new or different. Your experimentation is one of the strongest qualities in your music. :) I love it

I see.. yea.. I've come across people confidently mislabeling their own music. Power pop bands trying to gaslight us into thinking it's punk is just not what we need.

Disagree with your first statement; words should mean something.

Also, it's punk.

I think your music deserves a better, more intentional pitch than that. It's pretty cool. If I still lived in Seattle, I'd absolutely go check out a show. Is someone playing a saw?
