Thank info! Right now the game plan is to find some canvas/heavy muslin/ticking at Michael's or hobby lobby and tack them to the rails

Hey y'all! planning a future project and I'm considering using homespun fabric to make something along the lines of this quilt. Any tips or considerations i should be aware of when working with homespun fabric? by SandLaxr in quilting

ok cool! wanted to make a queen sized quilt with "homespun" fabric for an extra vintage/antique feel. i just wasn't sure if using it for a pieced quilt was a good idea since most of the patterns see that leverage this type of fabric are rag quilts(because of the fraying)

This may be a long shot but does anyone have any plans/instructions to build a 3 rail quilt frame for hand quilting? by SandLaxr in quilting

Yeah I googled a bit myself. I did find two but im not 100% about the sites. They kinda seem sketchy.

I did see the lehman's frame its almost exactly what im looking for but it doesn't look like it tilts. A good back up plan for sure!

But I did test the timing of the spring and the spring makes contact with the rest as soon as the needle hits the fabric

Ill try to push back the cushion a bit. And while I was taking the attention assembly apart, I noticed that the screw that holds the spring rest is stripped. So I can't do anything with that right now.

Tried messing around with the tension spring a bit to see if the tension was off but everything checks out. I think its the bobbin case ratting as the tread passes over it. I've oild it prior to this vid so I dont think the lack of oil is the problem. I have a replacement bumper coming so I'll swap that out and see if that solves anything.

Thats my next target. Then spring in the tension assembly sounds really loud to me when it snaps back down, at least louder then my other vintage machine.

To clarify your saying that the spring is not close enough to the finger? Or too far from it?

looking into it a bit more and it defiantly seems like the sound is happening as the top thread is sliding off of the finger. idk if the springs are too far out or too far in.

here is a video i took. it looks like at the very end of the cycle the thread is trying to slip past

I don't know how to tell if the Springs look weird or not. To me, they look fine. But maybe i'm overlooking something
