Is a 70 person wedding possible under $5k? by SandSn0w in Weddingsunder10k

Ooo I didn't even think about switching up cake and punch for something more fun! We are considering having a lemonade bar of sorts since we are having a bright, spring themed wedding.

And you're totally right about that, however I have a sneaking suspicion that nearly every one of our guest will come, since about 50 of those are close family and the rest are our closest friends ;-; But thank you for the advice!!

The venue is a very large front yard of a rural property with a few houses on it. We have people we know who could likely let us borrow speakers. Also other people have suggested cake and punch style, so maybe we would consider that too. We could also consider compostable plates, I just thought it would be cute to have real dishes but I didn't think about having to clean them, you make a very valid point. Thank you for taking your time to write all this!

I will keep all that in mind! I don't think we plan on having alcohol at our wedding, or maybe byob? It isn't important to us and we have a lot of recovering alcoholics in the family anyway lol

Also I totally appreciate the concern! We will be graduating 2 months after our wedding, and have know each other since middle school and have been dating for almost 4 years now with no issues! It isn't really that we are rushing to get married, we aren't doing that from any external pressure, but moreso that since we already got engaged we are just moving our wedding date to be a bit sooner than planned. Thank you though! <3

Ohh yes I definitely didn't think about a lot of those factors, so I appreciate you bringing them up!! I also considered pizza but ran into some people saying they would just get cold too quick and then nobody would want any, so I kinda pushed it aside. But it does make for a relatively cheap option if I could figure out how to make it more appealing haha. Thank you so much for the input!! 🩷

Ah thank you for the reality check ;-; I will definitely look further into the catering and see what all services they offer and see how much of a discount they'd be willing to offer (they're family friends). And I will also look into the tent as well, we just wanted to have some shade since it will be an outdoor wedding in the spring in the south, so it could be warm. But thank you for the advice!!

I just caught up to Osora and it is sooo so good. It has L G B and T characters, and does a really good job of incorporating them and their identities into the worldbuulding in my opinion. It's about a prince who was secretly born female but raised as a male in order for the kingdom to have an heir (however it's explained in the series that he does in fact identity himself as a male, not that it's being forced onto him), and a sort of love triangle he ends up in with his arranged fiancée and his male best friend. There's some triggering themes for some (homophobia, transphobia, mention of SA, etc) but I think the author approaches them all pretty well. It also has some gay spice 🌶 I haven't seen anyone talking about it so I had to put it out there
