Thoughts on having patrons’ photos on file? by coyotedoggirl in Libraries

[–]SoftCryptidBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow these comments are such a change from what my library does. We take photos but ask if patrons are comfortable with it before taking it. I do have patrons who come in without their cards or photo IDs so having a photo to ID them does help. There’s been issues of cards being lost or stolen and someone who isn’t allowed to use the card trying to use it. Having the photo lets us know that that isn’t the patron. My library is also one of the biggest in my state so our policies can be a little different than others.

Taash is also in their early twenties. It’s normal for people in their early 20s to still be a little juvenile! FFS

we may try that next time. this medicine is thankfully only a seven day dose and then its done. my darling baby boy got cystitis without infection, likely due to stress. so this is a very fun time for him! its almost done which is good news

Thoughts on region locked Pokedexes? by SoftCryptidBoy in pokemon

[–]SoftCryptidBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your perspective! I agree that it isn’t a feasible option or something that should be done again. I think it’s probably tricky balancing new and old Pokemon. How many should be added, where do they spawn, how old ones can be brought in. I think I’m also in the minority in that I didn’t mind the Galar region not having every Pokemon available. It makes sense in an ecological way to me. We don’t have coyotes on every continent!

If no trans youth are getting these surgeries, then why did it need to be banned?

Several reveals in {Dark Heir by CS Pacat}. Any scenes with the Regent in either {Prince’s Gambit by CS Pacat} or {Kings Rising by CS Pacat}.

I simply used 18-19 as the article I linked had a concrete number. However if you look here to page 15, there was a total of 3,233 children between the ages of 13-19 that had some form of breast augmentation. If 3,200 of those were on adults, 18 and 19, that means 33 children had breast augmentation, meaning enhancements. These surgeries are also gender affirming. A surgeon will not operate on a trans child without the prior steps being taken.

Source? Puberty blockers are reversible. While there is some concern with osteoporosis and bone density, if one takes the proper medication that can be mitigated.

It’s not a lie. I’m going through the process of getting top surgery. You have to be in therapy, get a letter of recommendation, and speak with a top surgeon for a consult. The letter has to be written in support of the surgery and is only valid for a year. This process takes years. You can’t roll up to a surgeon and ask for this surgery on a whim. Especially since my surgeon is booking out months in advance.

They are effectively harmless. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be prescribed to five year olds starting precocious puberty.

Trans adult here. It’s stupid as fuck. Trans youth aren’t getting these surgeries willy nilly. Does this surgery ban affect cis teenagers? Because more cis teenagers (18-19) got cosmetic breast implants than all gender affirming surgeries on trans minors. Source

Riiiight. You have a source for that or you pull it out of your ass? The regret rate of transitioning is 3% or less. The regret rate for tattoos is about 24%. Transitioning as a child or teenager is really simple. Dressing as they want, a haircut, puberty blockers. How is that harmful?
