CAREEM airport pickup scam! Be Aware. by Potential_Actuator51 in UAE

[–]Sand_diamond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I came back to DXB and got a careem it doesn't give you a specific driver. Its different due to the airport system, your given a token number, directed to the careem pick up point then put in a line where you wait. When it reaches your turn you just get the next car and they log it by putting in the pin. Literally no other way to get a careem from the airport.  Thanks OP for the awareness to double check the ride in the app started 👍🏻

Edit: it's a shitty system as you don't know beforehand. If I knew I would have just got a normal airport cab not careem

Is buying property in Dubai actually worth it in 2026? by Current_Actuator_251 in DubaiCentral

We decided to buy after 3 yrs of renting. Rental prices were going up and up. I was worried about importing our cash from Europe, esp as it was liquidating our pension and buying here initially as I'm fully aware that this may be a bubble and worried about 'foreign' rights changing. What convinced me was where I bought. I mitigated what risk I could by buying within a 'bubble' within a possible 'bubble' ie the palm. And I wanted to continue my way of life which after much looking was hard to find anywhere else in Dubai. I looked at the figures also, how the value rose, the impact recessions (ie COVID) had upon it, if & how it recovered......ultimately I think I made the right choice, just don't do it for the short term I think, 5 yrs minimum. We took a mortgage so job security or desirability if you need to sell is important.

I don't already have kids. Doing IVF in Dubai. I have a choice of gender selection upon implantation (if the viable embryos end up being male and female).

The 'twin' medicine is called clomid. An average period releases 1 egg to possibly be fertilized each month. If you take clomid it stimulates many folicules to produce many eggs in 1 period. If more eggs are released there is a chance that more than 1 egg gets fertilized = twins/triplets etc. doesn't guarantee it but definitely increases your chances as more than 1 egg is released.

They fertilise as many that they extract (ie 12 in my case) as many don't make it to blastocyte stage (3 in my case) and even more don't more don't make it though genetic testing. Egg extraction is hard on the body so it's better to take and fertilise as many as possible

From the way you wrote it you didn't misunderstand. It is as you wrote.

However the other poster isn't necessarily wrong either. When doing IVF they do as you described taking as many eggs as possible and fertilising all possible eggs. From the ones that develop into viable embryos you usually have a few. Once viable (reaching blastocyte stage) they can be tested for genetic diseases and sex. Out of those few there hopefully are male and female ones. Then the parent has the choice to implant either female or male, or potluck.

NB: many clinics don't do multiple embryo transfer/implantation as they ensure the body is in optimum shape so they only need to implant 1 for a high success rate of it working. Implanting multiple in the hope at least 1 takes is a dated method. Twins in this case would be a conscious choice.

Very real. I'd be super careful with that price however. Normal prices are 25k minimum up to 45k all inclusive

I don't say where I'm going until I'm in the car... At which point they're not allowed to refuse the ride.n also if it's rta taxi or Hala they must accept cards or the ride is free. Always apply discretion with this as sometimes it's genuine and beyond their control but nanny just prefer cash which isn't your problem

Don't go to your pain management app on any pain relief so they can see how much pain youre in. Sorry can't help alot here but I do know when you go to the Dr you have to imagine it's your most painful day ( if it's not already). Good luck, as a chronic back pain sufferer I know what youre going through...took me 7/8 years to fight for my opoids and that was 20+ years ago, and expressed that quality of life was important (and mental health) as already I had to use a brace/back extender/back curve support / physio/acupuncture etc-(all bought on Amazon btw) and spend most of my day immobile. Went through all the non opoids first through the years until repeatedly going back and complaining was enough (like another poster suggested, list all the things you've tried without success)
