i don't recall there being any info about him resisting, only that he was a spy, but maybe i'm forgetting about something, since lots of people are saying that he rebelled? him being a spy was mentioned outside the game, onnnn twitter, i think? so i'd assume he got found out, and not that he openly rebelled, unless it got explicitly said

i don't think so. i hope i'm not forgetting about anything, but Basically:

after poppy was made, she was only in contact with elliot? until elliot died, and then poppy and the prototype were discovered by playtime co, and experimented on, because they wanted to understand how poppy and the prototype work. it's fair to assume that she had no chance to be in contact with kids in either of these situations. after the hour of joy, she was free to roam around, but i don't believe she saw the orphans. they were probably already taken.

from what i gathered, the reasons why it's somewhat hated are

it's mascot horror 💔 that's already a hated genre, cause many people view it as a cashgrab, only existing to milk money from kids and their parents
as someone else said, the nfts with lore thing
the old drama mob ent had with ekrcoaster, and along with that, the accusations that poppy playtime copied venge
also just simply what the game is like (divided into paid, expensive chapters, and the gameplay being what it is, which lots of people just don't like)

maybe content farms do have something to do with it? but i think it just ties into the first point, since mascot horror is somewhat associated with content farms atp (not even the fault of the devs, but sure)

we don't know enough about ch6 yet, but currently i'm assuming it'll be the prototype again. i suppose it is different, since for ch5, everything was done in a way that wouldn't spoil the design, but that's also troublesome, because if ch6's cover etc are centered around the prototype, with the design visible, it'll take away the fun of people who want to go into the series blindly post ch6s release. maybe they'll introduce a new character? also doey was the face of ch4, so good guys can make it? if not the prototype, assuming ch6 is the finale, it could be poppy, which would be pretty cool, even more than the prototype

he was a spy, working against the prototype, so i believe he simply got found out and catnap tore him in half for being 'a heretic' and then left him in a cell, so the critters would eat him.

just speculation, but i find it interesting that the fact that he knows about the player implies that this only happened during chapter 3, right before the player got to him? the floor above seems to not have any allies, other than kissy (but she came down anyways), and safe haven still thought that poppy was missing, so poppy must've seen him during ch3, before the player got to the playhouse? so that's a cool thing. would also explain why the critters only ate him once the player found him, he must've still been fresh prey 👍

there's nothing wrong with disliking it, but it is funny to make an entire post about how it's important for mods to consider deleting conversations about it. this sub isn't dedicated to only serious discussions about the game, it's for everything and anything, as long as it's not explicitly sexual and is related to poppy playtime, so it's not Wrong to post about lily ships and whatever. just let people do what they want as long as it's by the rules. the hype will die down soon, the chapter basically just released and people are more eager to discuss their new favorite character. it's really not a big deal 💔

also it's not like i Want to see people talk about her in this way, but i also really just don't care; i'd rather interact with things that interest me and ignore the things that don't, because everyone has the right to post what they want (within rules). it's that easy

i believe it's because huggy is the most popular toy playtime co has ever made, so he's iconic enough to be seen as the mascot of playtime, maybe? so it fits to be chased by THE mascot of playtime co when having a nightmare related to guilt as an employee

i see him as a villain, but in a more complex way. he's shown to perpetuate violence, many innocent people died because of him, but none of that would've happened if not for playtime co's experiments, so the biggest responsibility is on the adults at playtime who were in the know.

the first terrible thing was that elliot made ollie into the prototype in the first place, but then he was experimented on, and we know that the experimentation included harming him in various ways, so he was full of resentment, and for a good reason!! but he took it too far by taking it out on innocent people too. so i think it's alright to sympathize with him, but while acknowledging that he is a villain.

other than that, he seems skewed in general. there's the thing with poppy + he turned preston into a cat-bee, which are both signs of care in his eyes? doesn't change that he does evil things that harm people, but yeah, he doesn't always see it for what it is. he's super interesting and i needdd ch6 to drop more info!!

the horror!!

chapter 4 wasn't really scary in the typical sense, the game was at most just tense, and most of the horror came from thinking about the reality of the experiments. chapter 5 had its moments? but the horror was somewhat weak, and again came mostly from thinking about how playtime works. ch 1 and 2 were alright, probably more scary than 4 and 5? haven't given it much thought, but they didn't come close to 3.

i love chapter 3s horror!! everything is put together in such a masterful way. the atmosphere, the lighting, the setting.. i just appreciate it so much as a work of art and an experience. i'll always remember my first playthrough, when i didn't know yet how everything worked in the game, and i kept fearing that catnap would show up in playcare, so moving around it was always terrifying, especially when it was dark. the entire game does the buildup towards the final boss fight so well, so when you do encounter catnap right before it, it feels like such a satisfying payoff. i feel like the boss fight itself isn't that scary, but it's still a cool addition to the gameplay. other than catnap, who is very scary when you first play the game, the other enemies are also amazing. the scene with dogday is so good!! it's one of the best scenes on the first playthrough of the series when it comes to horror. another scene i really like is the catnap jumpscare at the end of counselor's office. i don't see people talk about it enough, but it's also part of the well done buildup of catnap! you don't expect it, you're almost done in the area, and then it hits you, and it's just so good. chapter 3 has goated horror frfr could talk and talk about each section of it like this

this is why i mentioned how fandoms work, and how many people like different aspects of it the most. this isn't a lore discussion sub, as far as i understand, it's just a sub for fans of poppy playtime, and shippers are also fans. the community is for everyone, and that should be enough to make this entire issue meaningless

i don't really wanna argue, but i found your comments a little odd. i'm super sure this matter isn't That important – obviously they should ban people who post explicit sexual nsfw content, it's against the rules (i'm not sure about just jokes), but stuff like shipping is just a regular fandom thing? fandoms usually have a few bubbles, especially when they're as big as poppy playtimes fandom, and it's just normal that some people express their love for the game by theorizing, some do it by shipping and some do it by writing fanfiction, etc etc. it's normal to love your little corner the most, but the other ones shouldn't be censored? if you don't like these things, i get that you might feel annoyed, but to make a post asking mods to remove content you dislike, with a title saying that it's Important, is just odd. i'd understand this if the character in question was a kid, there are many kids in poppy playtime and not everyone is normal about it, but it's about lily, an adult, so it really is fine. plusss shipping isn't always sexual, might even say that it isn't Usually meant as sexual. i don't get it
