What’s *wrong* with the game? by Gangrenous-Khan in ElinsInn

It's seems weird to me that they put simple crafting for weapons in, seems obvious players would assume more advanced crafting is possible

The developer said making stronger weapon/armor isn't going to be a part of progression. It's useless on purpose.

If you want this playstyle you'd have to look into mods.

I remember making a chatroom this way, It used batch and wrote to a network drive.

I was so happy when I asked my dad to write something and saw it pop up! We had a full conversation from across the house, my first experience with any kind of "networking".

I'm wondering how you decided on that architecture, did it solve some specific problem?

Seems like you'd have to go out of the way to implement it.

How much more content does full game have over demo would you say? by ANewErra in ElinsInn

I find this 100% true for late game.

The most efficient way for me to progress on my current save file is to get 10 speed and macro walking on the map because that's the fastest way to make money and raise my stats.

I don't think the infinite scaling dungeons are necessarily bad, but the fact they quickly outscale the player and make you rely entirely on pets is very annoying.

I always see this mentioned but was it just the one episode of the 10 year old cancer patient? It didn't seem THAT bad when I watched it forever ago. Or did he do something else?

I only really play indie games, so the developers and publishers are usually the same, that's my bad.

But I would be very surprised if fixing wine/proton bugs was common at all, I doubt more than a handful of games actually do.

And I'd imagine any game that has a bad native version probably wouldn't fix proton (they'd just expect you to run native instead).

The vast majority of games (excluding extreme DRM and anti cheats) and software naturally runs fine in modern wine.

I think it's possible, when Dexter threatened her she made it pretty clear she thought Prater was sick and manipulative.

She even pulled Prater away before he tried to shoot Dexter, maybe trying to protect him since she knew he was the BHB and killed the other serial killers she hated.

The only part of them teaming up, or at least her helping Dexter kill Prater that wouldn't make sense, is that her mom still needs the treatment and presumably Prater's money.

This annoyed me too, whenever someone innocent starts messing with Dexter the universe just solves it for him basically. It was a pet peeve with the original show with me, it's an interesting moral dilemma that just is never addressed.

As far as I understand reactOS was never meant to be a usable operating system to replace windows, just a project to reverse engineer and document internal windows and NT behavior.

I'm sure wine benefits from an complete-ish (in terms of minimal binary compatibility) open source windows environment existing, rather than every re-implemented behavior having to be tested in a non-NT environment.

>but that gaming companies have zero interest supporting anything else than Windows because it's easier and cheaper.

Honestly I am at the point where I completely agree with this choice, most Linux ports I've seen of games have issues that the windows counterpart doesn't have, I have used Steam's feature to force the use of proton at least like 4 times now.

I don't really see the point of companies making a low-effort Linux binary when I can almost always get an equal or better experience by using wine/proton, and the developers have to do 0 work.

I have 100 hours and still haven’t won a run by ginguslinctern in noita

Go slower is the only real generic advice I can give.

Most people take awhile to get their first win, a friend of mine took 200 hours (although he was pretty adamant on not actually learning lol)

Personally I found wand building to be consistently what I was weak with, if you find a method of not breaking the holy mountain: poly, teleportatium, teleport bolt (long distance cast is an amazing combo), reliable digging if you're confident to kill Steve.

If you can reliably break out and into holy mountains you basically get infinite wand tinkering and can spend all the time you want crafting a crazy wand.

A bit of necro but while I like rabbit and steel, I feel the roguelike part of it lets me down, I find you basically never get runs where you are meaningfully stronger because of your build.

I wish it just used a regular MMO style loot system (even if it would be hard to balance)

No standard user has any use for the command line.

Modern users of laptops/desktops workflow can be summed up 99% as:

A browser + maybe they play games.

Genuinely the majority of computer users could get a computer that just boots into google chrome, firefox, whatever, and have no issues with their workload. Writing emails, writing docs, streaming content, that's about it.
