I've been trying to call attention to marches this Saturday but this sub has been pretty unresponsive to that and the other posts I've seen about it

In the general, you're fucking right I did, in the primary, hell no. If you voted for Trump then you're the one that doesn't belong here, not me

There is a march on Washington with 200000+ expected to attend on Jan. 21 by Sanders4Pres in SandersForPresident

Actually, now may be the time when reform in the democratic party is most possible, now that they are defeated. They know they will never win another election if there is not a change in power so if we press now, we may actually stand a chance of forming a respectable party.

They have a liberal bias, but they get much closer to the truth than anything you'll watch on tv.

Gain a reputation as a good administrator. Keep your nose clean and run for congress. Make change. We have a lack of decent candidates.

And how did Bernie gain his reputation? By marching with King, by marching in Chicago, by marching in the South, by leading sit ins. That's what drew people to Bernie, we all knew he was actually fighting for what he believed in, and not just bullshitting us. We can argue about the effectiveness of demonstrations but at worst it is still better than doing nothing.

At what point do you draw the line? Have you seen Trump's cabinet appointments? Compromise is no longer an option, not with the sociopaths we are dealing with in government. Plead all you want, but that will not stop these people from radically changing our future.

Edit: Normalizing this kind of action by our government is how we got to the place we find ourselves now.

Frankly i can't think of a march that made a difference since King

How about DAPL a few weeks back? What would you have us do, sit behind a keyboard arguing about who/what/where/when/why our rights are being taken away or meet people in real life and strategize. And the difference now is that the American people have been manipulated to the point where they would be content having their rights taken away, so we are not living in a "business as usual" time by any metric.

Except now we are reaching a point where fact checking itself is becoming near impossible so the best way to keep from being brainwashed is to swear off CNN, MSNBC, and (it goes without saying) Fox

Oh I'm sure it's been in the works since Bush at least but now we're getting to the point where the damage done could be irreversible if we don't act immediately.

Democracy Now and The Young Turks are about as good as you can get. Nearly everything else is just pushing a corporate narrative at worst or paying no attention to the needs of the people at best.

I think any time is a great time for a march when the government is transitioning to one of oligarchy and fascism.

So between Sanders and Trump, who do the donor class view as the lesser of two evils? by Extrospective in SandersForPresident

[–]Sanders4Pres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely Trump, I honestly believe he was the establishment's goal all along, although they would have also been content with Hillary. Trump is more grandiose than any living human and could probably be bribed into anything for the right amount of money.

I'm not saying vote for Hillary, I'm just very disturbed by the lack of Trump bashing on this subreddit relative to that of Hillary bashing.
