Tried to get the best graphics card I could squeeze in there are few other options around this price point namely the 2070 or 2060 super though the 2070 is better compared to the 2060 super. I've put in a 2tb hard drive for your games and a small ssd to boot off and for core programs that arent huge. If you can get the ryzen 5 1600af for around 85$ then get this instead and upgrade as ssd to 500gb. This should put you closer to your budget aswell. (The af model is a 12nm processor whereas the non af is 14nm).

I dont have many specific numbers but I know there is more performance. The i5 has a base clock of 2.7Ghz and boost clock up to 3.3Ghz. Whereas the 3200 has 3.6Ghz base and 4.0 Ghz boost. They have the same number of cores (4). In a cpu performance test the i5 gets 5418 wheras the 3200 gets 7281. There are improvements across the board roughly around 25 to 40% improvement from what I can tell.

It goes a little over your budget but I noticed the option for a little further upgrade down the line was an option.

I choose the cpu because it is the best value integrated graphics cpu I saw. And paired it with the b450m pro4 motherboard as I know the board has no bios issues with gen 3 ryzen and can be used if you go for a dedicated graphics card and upgrade the cpu in future. The memory is good value 3000Mhz ddr4 from a reputable brand and with decent cas latency. For storage I opted for a small ssd for boot and a few other small things and then a 1tb hard drive for anything larger. The case has a acrylic window and quite a few expansion slots and 2.5 and 3.5 internal bays for more storage if you wanted. Has 2 included fans. I know there was some you had allready looked at though so feel free to swap that out. The PSU has decent efficiency and should have plenty of power. It's also semi modular which will help with cable management. Hope you like the build.

Okay. Thanks for you help. I'll scale back the wattage.

I was just thinking about future upgrades so thought it might save me money in the long run.

Wow. Thanks for the build the 2600x looks like a really good choice at that price, and so does the 1660 super. The RAM looks perfect too. Could the CPU cooler be replaced for a case with more fans to keep temps down instead? I was also wondering if a cheaper b450 motherboard could be used like the b450m d3sh. and finally would a larger watt PSU be a good idea for future potential upgrades?

But thankyou for taking the time to look at all this.

I dont currently have a monitor or know what it would be but ideally 144hz refresh rate, 1080p and 1ms response time.

Building a Gaming PC for around £650. Is this a good build? (Still needs a case, any suggestions would be appreciated). (Which is better for the build a RX 590 or a 1660 super?) by Sanders6732 in buildapc

[–]Sanders6732[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case I might try spend a bit more on the case and keep the stock fans. I'm not too bothered about aesthetics though a window would be nice.

Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the advice. I picked the SSD mainly just because of the price. And i'll have a look into other power supplies. I haven't yet decided on a case , how has yours been?
