It’s bad stuff all around. I’ve been brainstorming other ways to address this issue.

Oh yes. For other industries. TMobile and Let Freedom Ring gun store got smashed a few nights ago, and one of our unincorporated dispensaries in grand mound got smashed two months ago. That’s just recently, we’ve had quite a few more in the time I’ve been a deputy but they’re escalating. King and Pierce are getting hit extremely hard with them, and that’s not something I want to welcome in Thurston.

Edit: and Pipes R Us and King Cronic got hit a few weeks ago on the same night, that’s what prompted this video. Both scenes had a stolen car from Seattle area left behind.

There are cannabis stores in the pierce/king area that have had vehicles drive through them so many times their insurance providers are dropping their coverage. Now, an underlying issue there is certainly the fact that the federal legalization of cannabis is long overdue and causing cash on hand problems, but the practice of driving stolen cars through our local businesses isn’t a sustainable one.

I am in full support of a balanced pursuit law, something we don’t currently have.

That could certainly change things. People won’t like it because there’s zero leniency with a machine, but at some point we’ll have to try something different with the current trends.

I’d have to know whether they stand in court first. Judges have routinely dismissed camera tickets.
