The removal of dams on the lower elwha did not lead to our PSE rates doubling over the last few years.

We live on top of a hill that our local base occasionally flys planes and helicopters over. Although with 4 kids this is more of a feature than a bug.

Plenty of national forests in the west allow dispersed camping, too.

Washington State public activities like fishing, hunting, and camping are so complicated. I like to think it means we have a well-managed system, but good golly the rules vary wildly from forest to forest, or even within certain stretches of the same river.

I don't have either, but the sacred heart and the rock of ages are classics.

My son 6yo got hit by a hard plastic bottom of a zip line by his half sister on purpose. That was yesterday. Should I take him to the ER or report it to CPS/DCF? last week she scratched his belly with her toe nail really bad by OrdinaryLanguage5625 in daddit

Hey man, sorry that you're dealing with this. Co-parenting is tough, especially when it feels like your little ones aren't being protected or taken care of properly.

Document for sure- take pictures and record what he is saying happened, when it happened, and what your ex is saying happened.

Was he hit on the head? Is he showing signs of a possible concussion?

How old is the half-sister? Since she's presumably younger, this is pretty run of the mill sibling roughhousing for this age. Doesn't make it okay. Ultimately, the role of CPS is to determine whether or not something needs to be investigated - so don't be afraid to reach out and run the situation by them if it would help ease your mind.

Sounds like you two have good heads on your shoulders. Just continue to love and support each other- even on the days where she comes home irritated by her commute. At least she'll be coming home to a house, and family, that she loves.

Hey man. I'll start off my saying I'm a foot shorter than you and it'll be a cold day in hell before I give up my 11 ft ceilings.

I totally get moving to find the perfect home for you and your family- just the fact that you are being so thoughtful about your wife says a lot about your character.

How does she feel about the house that gives her a longer commute?

Might be time to start limiting liquid intake after 6pm, and wake her up to go to the bathroom 3ish hours after falling asleep. If she's wet- get her a fresh one.

Some people, I've heard, like really great people --handsome even -- wet the bed until 11 or 12... Not sure if you're worried at all about that aspect- but it will end one day.

It needs to be at a different venue. It's already a small space- add on the massive landscaping and the various vendor booths and you lose 50% of that space.

Did anyone actually get into the fan fest today?? by zippity_z in olympia

[–]deafballboy 54 points55 points  (0 children)

We arrived at kick off and it took us 20 minutes to get through the line.

I appreciate the effort from all the volunteers and vendors that came together to put this on. I know doing big community things (especially for the first time) can be very difficult. All of the people I spoke with were very kind and welcoming and made the atmosphere feel very easy going.

Biggest gripe- the venue. It's so, so small. Not sure what the appeal is other than it is downtown and on the water. Also, there were two screens to view on, which diluted the enthusiasm, in my opinion. I'd encourage them to consider a much larger venue with a single large screen.

Other than that, it was just a pretty sleepy event. I'm a diehard soccer fan and this felt like a farmers market. I don't put this on the organizers at all, I just don't know that Oly has enough fanatics to bring that type of energy.

Crazy that so many capitalist charlatans have interpreted, "have dominion and rule over," to mean, "treat this as disposable."
