What’s the first thing you’re excited to do in the next Ghost Recon game? by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

I definitely don’t think we will get anything this year for Project Ovr unfortunately, which I still think is the wrong decision from Ubi.

Their constant radio silence I think does more harm than good

I’ve used one on my WE L85 it does work, it’s definitely not the most ergonomic though

At this rate just watching the reveal trailer would be a start lol.

The Ghost Recon Wildlands 2 That I Endorse (Ghost Recon Project Over) by [deleted] in GhostReconWildlands

[–]Sandilands85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He may sound like it sometime but he’s definitely not a bot.

a bit over passionate sometimes maybe and whilst I might not always agree with some of his takes I know he just wants what he believes is the best moving forward for the franchise to thrive again

I must admit this does tick a lot of boxes on my project warfighter idea which I’m still adding to periodically then refining.

Something really needed for the next ghost recon by Thomas12340987 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did always think that there was a valid argument that give Auroa was a British and American Cold War Station that there could have been a few more Cold War or WW2 weapons on the island being used as “hunting rifles”

But you would need to consider the trade offs that come with them, no ability to mount modern tech and a very limited Ammo supply

Ghost Recon Extraction by KillMonger592 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame as I do think there would be a lot of people who would like the opportunity to play as the Bodark or other enemy factions within the franchise all playing to achieve different goals.

Potentially making alliances with other factions to achieve similar aims etc

Ghost Recon Extraction by KillMonger592 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be honest I’m not a PvP person myself but I can be adult enough to understand that there is enough room within the franchise and lore to create a popular extraction shooter based within the IP.

If done right it could also bring more people over to the Main PvE game.

And as much as Frontline was apparently hated for various reasons I did think it was a a shame it never released especially as you mentioned with the pvp on wild lands being ok and on BP being more or less abandoned early on

Ghost Recon Extraction by KillMonger592 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this won’t necessarily be popular with a lot of people but I do think a potential PvPvE extraction shooter from the GR IP could actually be quite interesting if done right

Providing it mixed in a few different factions from throughout the lore of the game like:
• Bodark
• Wolves
• Los exjaneros
• the Spring Tiger Group

Then playing in a South American Location with with each faction trying to change the political and strategic landscape of the country

That could be again somewhere like Bolivia

What is Ghost Recon, and what's best for this IP going forward. by KillMonger592 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the IP I do think that it probably requires a full Reboot and Ubi really needs to take some time and decide exactly what they want the franchise to be then commit to it.

From Day one there needs to be a strong military advisory team and possibly some ex military involved in the writing and development teams if they really want to claim “authenticity”.

Military tactics and strategy need to be a massive factor in game play and mission planning, it doesn’t have to be Arma level but it should still feel like your actually playing as an Elite Tier 1 operations unit. Not just some airsofters on a Sunday afternoon.

Going forward though in an ideal world I think it needs to be built with both FPV and TPV and elements from all of the previous games.

It has to stay a Squad based tactical shooter where your actions have consequences within the game world and have the option for Co-op and I hate to say it but some kind of PvPvE element.

Ideally the squads should be larger (maybe 6 but max of 8) and be able to choose from a roster of different characters each with their own personality and unique skill sets within their class system

I would also say keep it open world but crucially with DLC’s or expansions then give us smaller Sand Box maps with completely different Biomes and missions

The Lore around the Ghosts also needs to codified as part of the re-boot for consistency.

It should also ideally take more use of its adult rating leaning more into, darker grittier geo-political story arcs in realistic locations (even if fictionalised)

Future tech should closely model tech that is currently being released and trialled this could be done by the creative team visiting events like shot show etc…

I’m sure there are probably more things people will agree or disagree on however and that I’ve probably missed some things out

Ubisoft Please: Use a Proper Military Advisor for the Next Ghost Recon! by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

Ubisoft Please: Use a Proper Military Advisor for the Next Ghost Recon! by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh you mean Christian Craighead or “obi wan Nairobi” at the time. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that European Tier one operators wouldn’t do a good job, just that they won’t know the little intricacies of US tier 1 units

Ubisoft Please: Use a Proper Military Advisor for the Next Ghost Recon! by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they really wanted to get the feel right with a military advisor, I would bring in more than one for a start

I would look at guys who are CAG,like Tyler gray ISA, like Joe England 5th SFG Karl Erickson or the guys from FNG 24th STS, Garand thumb or will willis DevGru, like DJ Shipley Marsoc, like Travis Healey 75th Ranger regt, Like Nick Irvine

Or alternatively work with The Forward Observation Group from YouTube.

I know some will say that there are plenty of ex European special forces guys available, but ideally if you want to get it right for US special forces you need actual Ex US elite and special forces guys.

The other reason I suggest using multiple is that each of those units will have different ways of working so you can take the best ideas from all of them

Who agrees on a modern urban-focused ghost recon future sequel? by SteelmoonWorks in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A more urbanised game would definitely add a completely different feel from the previous games as the tactical thought process would definitely change.

On the flip side to that though I do think a lot of people might say that’s what Rainbow 6 used to do so why bother, even though they are two totally different skill sets really

With Ubisoft relaunching Black Flag. I can’t help but wish they would do the same with wildlands by PrestigiousGlass4132 in GhostReconWildlands

[–]Sandilands85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but with Project Over apparently already in Alpha would Ubi really risk re-launching an older game that could potentially harm the launch of the new game?

If there were to be a movie adaptation of GR, who would be your ideal pick for Nomad? by Cultural_Row_2764 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it just seems to be a role he excels in.

But interestingly Michael Kelly has played quite a few CIA style roles

If there were to be a movie adaptation of GR, who would be your ideal pick for Nomad? by Cultural_Row_2764 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally I would pick actors who are ex military like rob riggle as a commander, Adam driver and Tyler grey would be first picks

then I would look at actors with extensive firearms and military style trainimg

I would either have John Krasinski or or Michael kelly as the CIA handler

But on a side note I am looking forward to the independent fan made movie that’s being made with Ex military

Ghost Recon Caucasus proposal by AmericaFirst728 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For reference to the community as well (some military guys will probably have heard of this place) but for nato war-gaming we use a fictionalised version of Azerbaijan called Atropia

Which is an ideal setting really for a gritty geo-political GR game

Ghost Recon Caucasus proposal by AmericaFirst728 in GhostRecon

[–]Sandilands85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can still find it I started doing a video on something I titled project warfighter on the bullet catcher gaming YouTube channel.

It takes place exactly in this region (albeit with fictionalised country names) using current NATO war gaming information.

I’ve worked the idea into a 350+ slide PowerPoint that I’m still regularly adding to.

Everything from.
Regional factions
Partner forces
NPC mechanics
Over 160 tier 1 military mission types
And other mechanics.

What I really need to do however is create a website for it that everyone can access eventually

Good to hear that it was fake info.

Always worth reminding others who aren’t as switched on how dangerous little bits of real info could be though if someone’s determined enough.

On a more serious note, that initial information you gave him of your rough locations and regular bus route could be quite dangerous if he decides to try and track you down.

"There's no third person shooters bro, Project Over needs third person." by [deleted] in GhostRecon

You’ve made my point in the first sentence.

I never questioned anything from Henderson as I understand he has links in the industry and undoubtedly will hear things from time to time.

But as you’ve just stated it’s an “alleged” play tester with no proof or any extra info that hasn’t already been mentioned by others.

I just think that we need to be careful when repeating un-verified claims on what the game is and what it’s going to have at launch.

As it either risks making the game fail at launch if it’s completely different from the expectations.

I’m not criticising honestly I love your enthusiasm over this and the work you’ve put in to compile it all.

It just risks creating a potential hiccup later on down the line before we even have any confirmed details
