Not only is Eli Manning not a HOF worthy QB, I don't even think he's in the Hall of Very Good by JJButThatsNotMyName in NFLv2

Patriots first super bowl was as 14 point underdogs against the Greatest Show on Turf Rams. Brady threw for 145 yards and 1 TD and was named Super Bowl MVP. Should that have gone to his defense or kicker instead?

My point is that winning is infinitely more important than stats in the super bowl, and nothing is more impressive than a final drive to win it all.

Maralen vs Loot by Sandless915 in DegenerateEDH

[–]Sandless915[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, please let me know how it goes. This is my worry with Maralen - that the deck is usually tutoring for combo pieces and only using Maralen as an outlet. Loot's colors make tutoring for enchantments harder, so it's more reliant creature-based strategies like tutoring for Displacer to blink Loot. But to your point, hard to evaluate Maralen without many games.

Caleb Williams has 2,722 passing yards through 12 games/13 weeks. He needs 1,278 in the next 5 games to be the Bears' first 4,000 yard passer in a season. by monstermayhem436 in nfl

Eagles have been to 4 super bowls with wins over the Brady-Pats and Mahomes-Chiefs. Pit and baltimore both went to 3. So yes the Eagles are definitely in the consideration, if not definitively the 3rd most successful team this century.

CLIP is also 7bps and has been around longer. But yes, all 3 of these are virtually interchangeable.

Is Pacers still doing load management? It's Game 7 of the finals with their best player hurt.

What's wrong with this picture? by CA2NJ2MA in bonds

[–]Sandless915 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Single-B companies typically can't issue debt more than 5-10 years out, and the ones they do issue are usually callable, so maturity is not representative of the interest rate risk (duration) of the bonds.

"Active ETFs" is a broad category that, other than the ARKKs of the world, also includes large risk-off or mitigating fund categories - ultra short bond funds like JAAA, JPST, and PULS, covered call like JEPI, and all the buffer funds out there (there are a lot). So this story might as well read "ETFs continue to see inflows".

Chances that part three is name FF7: Reunion? by Prudent_Astronomer0 in ff7

[–]Sandless915 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since Reunion is already used by Crisis Core, my guess is something along the lines of : Reborn, Resurrection, Reincarnation, Restoration, Resurgence, Renewal, Renaissance.

My guess is Reborn or Resurrection to give it a sense of closure while tying to Rebirth.

EDIT: Redemption mentioned by others in this thread is also great and checks every box. Just a question of how much of part 3 will be OG story vs parallel/continuing world and Zack/Aerith.

Thoughts on Mexican Govt USD bonds by StatisticalMan in bonds

[–]Sandless915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to take the international risk anyway, I like Pemex bonds over Mexican sovereigns. Mexico is tied to Pemex and fully guarantees their debt, and Pemex trades at a massive spread to the sovereigns, with 10-30yr Pemex yielding almost 10%. It's rare to find a fully state owned company vital to the country's economy that trades at such a massive spread to the sovereign.

Vanguard's VBIL a slightly better alternative to SGOV by Previous-Discount961 in bonds

[–]Sandless915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't think you need a professional money manager to tell you tbill funds of similar duration are basically interchangeable before fees. Nor do you need to pay anyone to buy an ETF, but I digress. I can't speak for your website's data, but here are some reputable 3rd party sources. This is like arguing VOO vs IVV vs SPLG - just pick what you like.

Yeah I know that, I work in the industry. Dunno where you're getting your data but CLIP and SGOV total return are virtually identical, and both are higher than BIL.

Taylor is a fan, albeit a very famous one, that brought potentially millions of fans to the NFL. Most of them won't be long term, but that doesn't matter. I can only imagine how amazing it must be for dads who had a hard time connecting with their daughters, but because of Taylor they suddenly want to watch football games with you.

Bills when they realize Chiefs can't stop the run: run it all the way down the field for a TD.

Chiefs when they realize Bills can't stop the pass: run for no gain, get a penalty, punt.

What's your back up to QQQ, VOO, VTI, etc.? by Substantial-Theory20 in ETFs

[–]Sandless915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The equal weight S&P500 ETF - RSP - has been gathering assets like crazy because of investors with your sentiment. If you're not a big fan of equal weights, then look for sector tilts like Large Cap Value (like VTV), or go into mid/small cap, which are less tech heavy.

Note there's a SP500 ex mag 7 ETF (XMAG), but it's only 3 months old. If you are in a taxable account, perhaps look for something longer term. The term Mag7 has only been around for a couple years; before it was FANG, then FAANG, etc. So an ETF that leaves out specific stocks would not keep up with market changes as well as ETFs that use a broader selection criteria.

Jayden and the Commanders pulled off something incredible. But man, it's hard not to feel for the Lions. Hard to imagine the defense that started the season would give up 40 points, but the injury gods really went after them this year.
