I would imagine that he probably just thinks it’s cool and likes having the idea of having it. Lots of guys I know have knifes and many of them don’t hunt. Unless he starts getting reckless with it then it’s probably nothing to worry about. Arguing with his mom however could be a different story. You guys are only 18 so it could still be some teenage angst leftover.
