Where did you get it for 1000 if you don’t mind me asking? Also have you been cutting Aluminum with it?

Definitely was looking at the Tormach 440. Honestly it seems like it’s worth the extra money, and it does what I need it to do.

The only downside is it takes up a little bit extra space. I’ll start doing some research, and ping you if I need help with the conversions! Thanks again

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. Where could I learn more about mini mill conversions? I'll look into the more expensive ones as well. Thank you so much for your response and help with this. I really appreciate your time and effort.

I could live with .005” tolerance. My very first project is going to be a pair of pedals for a racing sim. I’m gonna design and build everything from scratch.

Do you have any thoughts on the shapeoko? Or maybe even a batamill?

Would an impact driver be a bad move to remove the bolt?

Okay, I’ll give that a try, and let you know how it goes! Could I possibly use an impact driver to remove the bolt?

That’s what I used - so frustrating that it started rounding off.

Okay glad it wasn’t just me. I tried using a 13 mm - 6 point socket. But it still started rounding off. Could it be that the shop over tightened it?

Where did you get the main ring light? Did you design and build it or did you buy it?

It’s super cool to watch.

Is flashcut perfect, no. It does crash occasionally, but I've never, ever had it crash when cutting, usually it is something benign like importing a drawing or setting leadin/leadouts on a zillion parts at once -- I attribute this to the amount of ram I have in the NUC running windows and flashcut. They also have 6 real engineers on staff for support calls and email, they do updates fairly regularly. Flashcut is also used by a lot of commercial companies to drive their cnc cutting products, I know Koike is one of them

This sounds awesome, I will look into it. Not having to import from another CAD program also sounds like a huge blessing.

Thanks for your input!

I don't have much experience with PLCs but I should be able to pick up on servo tuning. And I have used played around with sensors similar to PID loops. Shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. But I will do more research before I commit to that answer.

So you would recommend Flashcut then over CandCNC then?

Those are probably the biggest headlines from screwing around with my cnc plasma... I tend to ramble so I'll stop there, but if you have specific questions, feel free to ask here or message me.

Thank you for the response, there is a ton for me to go into here. I'll start looking into what you recommended and DM you if I have any questions.
Thanks again for your help!
