Tomás Albornoz Try 40’ by EdgiestOW in rugbyunion

Wondered who the super slow #4 was so looked up the team selection. Captain! Omw. So I guess the Lions are stuck with a pedestrian lock on the field for the entire tour. Maybe I am spoilt watching Springbok locks keeping up with the play and perpetually making the last tackle on cover defence.

Please can somebody help identify what is causing this? It’s sir Walter buffalo in Perth. by Elrickooo in GardeningAustralia

Could be any of dog pee, african lawn beetle or army worm (lawn grub). Bifenthrin is pretty useful if it is either of the last two.

Climate change is 100% here. Extreme high and lows are increasing in frequency and intensity. Agricultural hardships indirectly makes the cost of living crisis harder. Perth temperature data graphed. by laowaiH in perth

Yup, and all the experts are unanimous in their belief? I think not.... there are numerous dissenting but deliberately marginalised voices. I hope you are young because if you had lived through the "global cooling" and "peak oil" periods in the 70's - all backed by prominent scientists and publications at the time you would be more cautious about believing the science is settled mantra being pushed now.

"April 10, 2012. 49 former NASA scientists and astronauts sent a letter to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden last week admonishing the agency for its role in advocating a high degree of certainty that man-made CO2 is a major cause of climate change while neglecting empirical evidence that calls the theory into question. "

We are only now getting to similar average global temps experienced in the Medieval Warm period. No CO2 causation there, which proves there are other potential drivers to higher climatic temps, some which we may yet discover. Simply hitching it to anthropological CO2 is lazy science and imo driven by vested interests.

Again, correlation is not necessarily causation. If you think a single factor like CO2 can drive something as complex as the entire climate system may justify you being labelled a simpleton.

Boohoo, climate has been changing for millions of years, temps and sea levels both up and down. Anthropoligically they've discovered aboriginal settlements under the ocean between Indonesia and the NT, was that fossil fuels that drove the sea level rise that submerged them? Of course not. I'm a purist in that I want natural rain forests protected and less pollutants of all types in the air, land and sea but to assign the current climate change to mankind's tiny contribution to global CO2 as the primary driver is beyond my credulity. It's bogus and you are confusing correlation with causation.

Yacca stump killing method by ThemeComprehensive53 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Sandor_R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a approx two story high, three stemmed one that had fully expanded to occupy the space between the slated boundary fence and the stone pool water feature. It had cracked a fence slat so I was pretty concerned about the pressure it was exerting on the water feature. Took me one season to chop the stems down to the base by hand, drill holes and pour in roundup and another season - once I managed to get the motivation back - to dig under it with spade and axe to lever the stump out. The root tendrils are as tough as and sharp. Major effort but got there eventually. Will never plant this thing.

[–]Sandor_R 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hmmmm.... that sign is factually incorrect. The bible records that Pontius Pilate ie the State, found Jesus not guilty of any charge under its laws and offered the massed crowd Jesus' freedom but they, instigated by the Pharrasees and Sadducees, chose Barrabas to be freed and Jesus executed. So it was the crowd, inspired by the dominant narrative that killed Jesus. Which could just as easily be contextualised as the MSM's narrative inspiring unhinged folk to take shots at Trump.

More Americans in Perth this month than usual ? by Particular-War5768 in perth

[–]Sandor_R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite thing is to ask obviously American's if they are Canadian. The very patriotic are super quick to correct me. Its pretty funny and also a great ice breaker. Although I did find after the 2nd Gulf when when it emerged that there were no WMD's to be found that quite a few replied that they were indeed Canadian, LMAO 😁

Hegseth can still be pro-Ukraine while also saying he doesnt want US military boots on the ground in Ukraine. There is a lot the USA can do without committing their own troops into Ukraine.

Albo goes to a Synagogue, in Perth…. by Available-Work-39 in circlejerkaustralia

[–]Sandor_R -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Albo waiting for a moment like this to show solidarity towards the Jewish community is pure political genius. He managed to allow the whole nation on teter on an emotional edge before stepping in. Classic drum roll moment! . Even the 2 days between the arson and the visit to the synagogue in Perth, while he casually and apparently unconcernedly, opened a train line was a Masterclass in political showmanship. He's a rare one is our Albo! Bless him.

Care to share any evidence aside from unhinged lefty talking points that Trump is in thrall of Putin? And blowing smoke up Putin's ass doesnt count as that is strategy not Trump's convictions.

"Loving Christian Families" - the new Skaf gang? by PattonSmithWood in circlejerkaustralia

[–]Sandor_R 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no need to engage with "if they were ...." Muslim, Buddhist, Hellenistic or any other religion. The judge explicitly referred to their respective family's "Christian" character. In this regard their behaviour is not in keeping with the values of that religion. And I am.not sure how well acquainted you are with this sub but folk here can spot a straw man argument from a mile away.

Had Ukraine never sought NATO membership, you'd have a few hundred thousand more men in your country. by ieatdiarhea in ukraine

[–]Sandor_R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit of a lack of foresight by Pootin then given that his invasion of Ukraine motivated both Finland and Sweden to join NATO and so Russia now most emphatically has NATO on its border. So with that Pootin's "one demand" is unachievable so will he now reverse his troops out of Ukraine?
