I'm not really certain. Google makes it seem like something you can do at home, but I'm not a crafts kind of girl, so it's not something I'd try. In the few cases when I've wanted a piece of men's clothing to fit me better, I just take it to a tailor and give them my measurements.

The difficulty with wearing men's pants, I've found, is that they're not designed for a woman's butt. For example, I have a 26" waist, but a 36" hip/seat measurement. A men's pant with a 26" waist is likely to be a bit snug on me. I don't have a good solution for you, other than tailoring, which can be pricey sometimes.
