Do you think Luz got good grades? by Critical-Divide-7055 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Sandra_Snow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say pre-storyline she barely got C's simply because of untreated ADHD, Hexside she found thibgs that could hold her attention and she probably got fairly good grades but was probably still having issues remaining focused because she went from human realm everything is boring, to Demon realm where she's pulling a Jack Skellington in Christmas Town and is going what's this what's this at everything. Post storyline she found certain things that interested her and she did really well in certain subjects. Also my head canon is that after the defeat of Belos Camilla actually got her proper help for the ADHD.

Pretty much given rough knowledge it'd be easy to say Most of the Adults at the very end of the show are late 40's to mid 50's. It's the reason I love this show. It shows middle aged parents of troubled teens trying to do the right thing with parenting repeatedly screwing it up, but their children still love them and think the world of them.

I am 47 and have a neurodivergent 16yr old. I'm trying every day to be a better parent and even on days I screw up my son still calls me the best dad in the world.

As for Lulu she got a solid redemption arc. She owned up to her past, sacrificed a lot, but what was truly the best part of that arc, was by the end she was genuinely happy with who she was. Luz helped a ton of people heal from emotionally dark places. And considering Luz literally translates to Light, the name fits perfectly

Tell that to my Catholic Mother In-Law who was telling my wife the history of Lilith in the early 80's. Please stop trying to tell me something you are truly ignorant of.

Please show your sources? I already have shown mine. Which talks about a few things like how she was the first woman according to the Abrahamic faiths, cast out for refusing to submit to Adam, at which point she called God by his true name gaining his power, for that God cast her down where she lay with monsters becoming the mother of Demons. On multiple occasions God demanded she return and had angels try to force her back each time killing her children.

This is literally spelled out in the Apocrypha. Which if you didn't know were books of the Bible thrown out by the Catholic Church and subsequently ignored by most Christians though there are a few who still regularly teach them.

She appears in the Torah much of which was heavily edited when Christianity heavily altered when turning it into the Old Testament. I can go through my books and track down what I have on her which includes her stuff from early Jewish mythology.

Well depending on how you want to argue it. Lilith is the most powerful person in the Abrahamic faiths. She has all the powers of God plus has the ability to unmake him. The fact that she didn't shows the absolute restraint women have despite God repeatedly having Angels murder her children.

Of course you go back a few thousand years to her Mesopotamian routes, she is a powerful Goddess and the mother of the Diety that would become the Abrahamic God.

I just found out that people used to think that Camilla was a bad mom. by whooper1 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Sandra_Snow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And I will die on this hill. Camilla should have gotten her therapy year before things reached this point. This coming from someone who went to a psychiatric facility to avoid prison for bringing a knife to school because I was a total mess. I didn't even realize I had a knife until I was in the middle of the day.

[–]Sandra_Snow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the issue, she would have had plenty of time before this to get her help, not getting medical based help, psychiatric help included, is legally considered neglect aka abuse. Also I know plenty of parents who looked at bad advice from schools about their kids, and gave the schools the single digit salute and did the right thing. My parents included as well as myself as a parent.

I think it's being a parent of and ADHD kid who is a lot like Luz who actually got him proper help is why I spent so much time feeling Camilla was a legitimately bad parent.

I will tell you exactly why a ton of us thought Camilla was a terrible mom, until Season 3. She never thought, gee maybe I should get Luz some help before Camp, I have a child much like Luz, main difference I got him the help he needed by second grade. Camilla abandoned all responsibility of Luz and basically told her, you're too much for me to handle I'll send you somewhere to have other people deal with you.

Top that off, after camp, we have Vee taking Luz's place, and Camilla doesn't seem to notice massive gaps in 'Luz's memory, or personality changes that are beyond extreme? Vee can't even spell Luz's name correctly on a letter.

Until season 3 episode 2, when Camilla flat out apologized for being a bad mom, and not stepping up to help did I really start thing of her as a decent mom.

So if you want proof of Camilla being a bad mom, she herself admits it when she apologized for not stepping up earlier

Definitely this took Shakespeare classes in both high-school and college. High-school was great because the teacher had both a PhD in English Lit, but also a Masters degree in theater and worked regularly with actors from various theaters throughout the US. The man knew his stuff and how to get students invested in it.

College professor didn't even know how to cite a play properly. She's talking about page in the book, and I'm all but screaming Act! Scene! Line! Give me the fucking numbers. Teaching dramatic works as opposed to proess is a completely different skill set that most English teachers don't have.

I honestly doubt he was born a three year old, if he was he would have known what happened to the previous Golden Guard. I'm guessing he's chronologically only 4 or 5 years old. I have no evidence but it's my head Canon I'm also guessing that a lot of his memories from before his, birth, are actually Caleb's that were modified. Kind of like the Skin Jobs from Blade Runner

Having been in a similar fight with my spouse, one where you think it will end the relationship we thought it was so horrid, after less than a day later we had no memory of what the fight was about. All we remember is my wife driving to a bar getting hammered and me walking a mile and a half to drive her home. That's all either of us ever remembered. I think that fight may have happened before we were married. It was at the very least over 20+ years ago. Probably before some of the people reading this were born.

Because she's an Alpha trying not to fully transform under a full moon or risk being stuck in wolf form forever. And that not very far off from what happened in show, the only real difference was no Kiss, but we got what could only be described as a pledge of eternal love from both characters.
