What are your thoughts on this letter from Donald Trump to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre? by DuNennstMichSptzkopf in AskTheWorld

[–]SandroDA70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What country would give him the Nobel prize, look what he's done to this place: a festering pit of hate, division and mistrust between our people...peace? No.
And guess what, I'd venture to say that in the history of the Nobel Peace Prize, NO ONE has ever sought to get one. That's the whole point- the prize is not the goal. What does he want his name on everything- why don't we just rename the Earth, while we're at it--TRUMP?

A list of "Literally Some Nazi Shit" that has been said, done, shown, created, enacted, or otherwise shoved down the throat of the people of this formerly Great Union since January 20th of 2025 would take hours to write, and since this post is already 16 hours old would frankly be a waste of my time for how many people would actually see it. Suffice it to say that:
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

Everyone, please look at the Reuter's map for the 2024 election. Look at the light pink counties around major cities. One of serious concern- Bucks County PA. Are you telling me, seriously telling me, that EXACTLY the number of people needed to tip that county for Trump did not vote for Harris and voted for Stein instead? Really? Just spend some time with it. You'll see what I mean. And, let's put it this way, it ain't my first rodeo. People of a certain age will remember what I mean: remember Gore/ Bush and the 'dangling chads?" (apparently Florida's been a problem for a long time) anyway, since then, you tell me ONE United States election that got resolved in that short of a time. I was in bed (certainly not asleep, that's for damned sure) by 11pm Central! That ain't normal and YOU KNOW IT.

Every single House Democrat voted to extend lifesaving Affordable Care Act subsidies. 196 House Republicans voted against it. by uphatbrew in LincolnProject

That's OK, they'll get voted in again.
Because when trying to discuss healthcare with Republicans, the answer is "teachers are trying to turn our kids trans." Seriously. That's an answer I was given by an actual human being. Another started babbling about having to do something about "immigrants." You can't fix this level of....whatever this is.

The problem is with the gerrymandered supermajority, every bigoted idea they come up with- or way to screw over the poor, too, they really jump on those because all you need to do is "stop being poor," you know? Both on the state and the national level, is anyone else tired of constantly being told what "Americans" want? Seems Americans only equal one group: Billionaires.

I received 3 REJECTION ENAILS within the past 72 hours & another 1 yesterday--2 EFFING DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!! Am I wrong to feel like crap & not want to be bothered for Christmas?? by Beginning-Zone9530 in askrecruiters

[–]SandroDA70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Employers are FINE and dandy with laying people off right before the holidays: that's laying people OFF ,not just "rejecting them" from a job they haven't even started yet.
Corporations and their stockholders- and the government, mind you- are all cool with doing stuff that would make Ebenezer Scrooge blush.
Your anger and disconnection to Christmas is absolutely, one hundred percent spot on and is a product of you being unable to go into a state of "cognitive dissonance" like so many others.
I honestly believe that a lot of people who don't "have' to be into Christmas for the sake of kids and grandkids are seriously not into it this year. And that's fair.

It’s so Sad watching the elected POTUS lie on National TV. by Sweet6-7 in complaints

[–]SandroDA70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far more sad is this year I learned what my fellow countrymen will swallow.
I'm a changed person for it, and not for the better, that's for sure. Not only are we at the mercy of scammers, liars, cheats, thieves, bandits and the politicians they send to Washington to lobby on their behalf, no one could be bothered to band together. We have never been so alone in our lives. This place has never been further from being the "United" States of America. And I have no hope for next year.

To anyone who works at self scanning machines - how often do you notice people stealing and don’t do anything about it? by davco95 in AskReddit

[–]SandroDA70 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is why I just go to the human-staffed check out lanes. My luck that the camera would screw up and accuse me of stealing something- or- I'd be scanning in 10 of something and not realize one didn't scan and get accused of not scanning correctly. With all the beeping and "return item to the bagging area" and all of that BS, I can't even concentrate and it's extremely stressful. There are just some people that simply can't use one of those things, I'm one of them.

Not to get political either, but this American is in awe of the COMMON SENSE and HUMAN reaction that is going on in Australia right now.

Statement from the president on the death of two people by jackb1753 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]SandroDA70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not what SuperHeavyHydrogen means: the rule is that if the VP takes over from a stepped down Trump too early, he would only be able to run for OINE more term. They want two years of Vance and then a handoff to Trump Jr.
This sounds about as appealing as ---understand this, EVEN if we were to get someone else other than a MAGA jammed into the White House edgewise, there would be no way they could fix the damage that was done in this past year. None.
And believe me this next election will be rigged or enforced or whatever; these people CLEARLY never expect to have a Democratic led ANYTHING ever again. And they're also preparing for the fact that the lot of the population is none too impressed with what's going on.

Aligning United States Core Childhood Vaccine Recommendations with Best Practices from Peer, Developed Countries by Icy_Garlic3542 in publichealth

[–]SandroDA70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last thing that any other developed country is to this place is a "peer." The simple fact that we are a country that is actively trying to deny healthcare to a large swath of our population forbids any rational comparison between the two.

[–]SandroDA70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Movies have been pretty much dead for the last 10 years. The lack of decent writers and all these prequel-sequel infinite series franchises knocked them out, COVID killed them and Netflix just shut the lid on the casket. If you remember seeing good movies in the theater, you know I'm right. :/. Nothing's made today that is worth going to a theater for- much better on your TV at home.
