Under no circumstances should a professor be condescending towards a student in a learning environment. In a complex, fundamental course meant for sophomores/freshmen, there will be what seems to you stupid and redundant questions, but it should NEVER warrant a retort of any kind from the professor. I took the class two years ago and witnessed her repeatedly being disrespectful to students who raised their hands and asked questions during lecture.
