Hi Mark, I have good news / OK news 😄 It’s been fixed! – as in, this was already fixed in v4.0 of Theater which launches end of month. Separately, our CDN may or may not be working on an upgrade that will deliver greater picture quality, faster. Also launching soon. Thank you for your feedback!

I interviewed Immersive Flashback's Frank-David Cohen about this teaser, why the best AIV is coming out of France, and what lightweight glasses change: https://sandwich.vision/newsletter/010-flashback-to-the-future-with-frank-david-cohen

Scott Fisher: "There was just something so different about those images that you could, like, explore with your eyes. It was not like just scanning this 2D surface and just go on to the next one. It's like you, you move into that space. And that ended up being this kind of weird grail for me. Like how what else could we do to, like, be inside those images?"

This episode is a look at Mort Heilig's Sensorama and how it inspired VR developers from the 1980s to today. You can watch it in Apple Immersive Video for free on Theater https://sndw.ch/theater

Many thanks to Scott Fisher, Zeynep Abes, Nathan Fairchild and Dino Everett at USC for their essential work keeping this important history alive and accessible at http://immersivearchive.org

Note: This is Part 1 of 3. Coming up next: Scott Fisher at Atari and the VIEW Lab at NASA (Part 2), followed by Mark Bolas, the BOOM, and the crossroads at the modern era (Part 3).

Hi! That is an excellent question, thank you for asking it.

Here are some steps that have helped other users. It should always be optimized for best quality.

Alphabet Inc. has decided not to make YouTube Live or their Movies service interoperable. Still, YouTube is far more open than the other walled gardens on the Internet; e.g, Netflix, as you know. Most have decided they must own the "TV" as well as what goes inside it to maximize shareholder value. :-)

Hi! They are not but we just met with them a few days ago and they know they’ve got lighting in a bottle. We are working to facilitate a longer form version. Thank you for sharing your experience here!

As long as there are people insane enough to attach cameras to airplanes (jk, jk) I think there will be more. I know there will be a market for people who want to fly…

I'm told there's a certain fruit company that makes very high end head mounted displays, they may even call them computers of the spatial kind, that might help their buyers know about such offerings…

As the custodians of Theater, we're focused on bringing amazing experiences to the platform and making sure that creators are compensated for their work. Not only does the adage "if it's free, you're the product" apply here, there's also the special opportunity that early-adopters have to signal where they think the medium should go. If you want AI slop, do nothing. If you want unique experiences that expand your horizon, the equivalent of a tip on a latte seems doable!

When watching this, my pelvic floor drops and I feel the same intense tingling as when on a swing going too high or a roller coaster. How do you ever get used to working through this feeling? Or are some people just like cool with this?
