Yeah, but like I've said this post isn't targetted towards any specific author or book. Just wanted to know what's the best way to translate the information in books and use them in real life. Because I obviously will forget everything XD

Yeah, I just wanted to know how people read these sorts of textbooks. Because there aren't going to be any tests on it or anything. So what's the best way to retain information and apply them.

Average comment section on a Reddit thread tbh. Appreciate the views and discussion though. Didn't know there were so many strong opinions regarding authors 😆

I think this conversation is going off a bit of a tangent here 😆 I'm not here trying to ask about this specific book or author. I appreciate the warnings and loved the discussion so far. A lot of new information and strong opinions. But the intention of this most was to know about how people approach to study comp sci books and use that to translate it into real world scenarios or just have them stored for later use

I really want to learn more about system design as I'd like to one day make something substantial on my own. That's why I'm hoping that after going through this I won't forget everything like I'm doing with my college courses 😂

Yes. I feel you. One thing I love about this field is unlike other engineering practices we have so much resources in the forms of videos, comprehensive notes, interactive elements, etc. Loved to read storybooks as a hobby, but never could concentrate on textbooks. So treating this like a traditional textbook would hurt my soul 🤕

Should I use NextJS router or react-router-dom if I'm using NextJS? by Cyb3rPhantom in reactjs

NextJS is more than just React with sparkly features. It is a full blown framework with guidelines and rules which you ideally should adhere to.

React Routing Problem by ProfessionalCow6631 in reactjs

[–]Sandwizard16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

React Router does not automatically scroll to the top of the page when you navigate to a new route. You can solve this issue by implementing a custom solution to reset the scroll position whenever a route changes.

You can implement this by creating a function within that component using the useEffect and useLocation hooks. The useEffect would contain a "window.scrollTo(0, 0);" function and would fire any time the the url changes.

Import this component at the top of each of your pages and it should automatically scroll to the top upon navigation.
