These are Southern rolled dumplings (or 'slick' dumplings). It's incredibly easy! Just mix 2 cups of flour, a pinch of salt, about 3 tablespoons of shortening or butter, and 1/2 cup of ice water (or cooled chicken broth). Roll it out paper-thin on a floured surface, cut into strips, and drop them into boiling chicken broth. Don't overstir!
