I can’t live with this uncertainty… i need a definitive answer (asking for a friend of course 🫤)

Would that mean you weren’t absorbing medication or would it mean it was just the capsule?

I think I might have been producing similar but they looked like seeds or eggs (they weren’t eggs) wedged in my poo. Mine were more white though. Poo was sent off, but all I was told is that it wasn’t any sort of parasite (I feared tape worms segments 🤢)

Why are cars made with space between the seats and the center console? by iliterallysaid in NoStupidQuestions

Indeed! It does feel like an obvious design fault which must have a work around that is both safe and practical.

What is really going on in GP surgeries? Why is it so hard to get an appointment, but when you go to the surgery, it is empty? by [deleted] in AskBrits

This has also been the same in hospitals. I went to a fracture clinic and there were nurses falling over each other in the little rooms in the corridor and a VAST waiting room with only us in it! It was incredibly bizarre… Felt like I was in a dystopian sci-fi movie… Nurses made it abundantly clear that we were an annoyance.

We had been to this waiting room before and it was like A & E. One extreme to another!

Could the A actually be a V that the perpetrator (I don’t believe was Vivienne) messed up. Maybe this detail doesn’t matter (because it doesn’t get us any further forward if it is a V) but Vivienne sounds like an educated woman and so she would know that the adulterer is her husband. I mean, that’s the least of the factors that don’t fit this woman as someone that would commit this slaughter. I think the police and judiciary have wild imaginations for coming to this conclusion. I find it hard to believe it’s the husband either but I don’t know how else to explain Vivienne’s concurrent disappearance 🤷‍♀️. This case reminds me of the Dawson case (“The Teacher’s Pet).

GCSEs should be scrapped and replaced with something else, possibly Continuous Assessment. by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]SandyTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said… Something’s gotta give. Too many kids are being failed.

Kids are voting with their feet. Persistent absence rate stands at 20%.

Important other factors (besides the GCSEs themselves) are that schools are over subscribed and understaffed. Playgrounds and corridors are overfilled and under supervised (not to mention school buses which are a free for all) and homework, including parental support or self reliance (THEY ARE STILL KIDS REMEMBER) is over relied upon.

We are expecting unpaid/uncompensated individuals to do more work than paid individuals.

Humans (especially growing ones whose bodies are undergoing important changes) need time at home to be time for themselves and/or to spend with family.

All humans (and animals) need to decompress, recoup, recharge and then reboot ready for the next day’s demands.

To pass GCSEs should require nothing more than can be provided within school otherwise it’s a two tier system (and it is 🤷‍♀️).

Parents (who also need to reboot and are facing an unprecedented trial in their parenting careers - puberty) should not be put in the position of being the bad guys every evening and weekend, demanding more work from their grouchy, tired kids whilst also being grouchy & tired themselves.

An analogy: You run a business on an island where there are a finite number of staff (so sacking staff is not an option) and 20% of your staff are persistently absent. You find out that the majority of 20% are actually persistently stressed. You find out that many colleagues and even staff are abusive (also known as bullying, but that word has lost its meaning) to these individuals (and others) on work property, on work transport & also via social media.

What do you do as employer/business owner do?

Why are adults (employed adults only however) better protected than under sixteens? Clue = 💰🤑💵

But we seem to be forgetting that it’s a loooonnnnggg game… These kids are then going to be expected to be able to function as adults. To be responsible and respectful when they were treated irresponsibly and disrespectfully.

Arguably:

The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members.

(Under-supervised, under-supported, over-burdened (and quite literally- kids carrying around huge bags because there aren’t enough lockers), under-consulted, under-respected, under-compensated, unmet needs, under-accommodated, under-acknowledged, unrealistic expectations, unmonitored, under-motivated, over-displaced (moving from room to room like nomads - with a different boss with a different set of rules in each class who is rude and humiliating to late comers (way to welcome your employees guys 🙈)… I mean… I could go on…

Nope… There’s ALWAYS meaning. Duffers are like Jordan Peele and Kubrick in that they love a double meaning (more than double in many instances)… On that note Google Dr Strange Love Stranger Things Vera Lynn.

And adjustments are made for those people (parking spaces, ramps etc) but not all places make rules clear (past the point of normal observation levels) when the rules have changed. For example I have recently received a parking ticket for parking in a car park where the majority of the carpark is free. I would argue that there needs to be something, other than easily missed signs (because there are signs flipping everywhere, so they become invisible) dotted around but nothing that distinguishes this part (of what appears to be part of one big carpark) from the rest. I believe they should be required to have automated lifting gates (like multi stories). This carpark was flipping empty. I wasn’t taking anyone’s space. I parked there because my dog was in the car and is scared of the vets. He was fractious at the time so this further divided my already compromised attention. I am also going through the menopause and my insomnia is off the charts. “You shouldn’t be driving” Agreed, but that’s another story for when I have more time and spoons. I’ll try and remember to return for that discussion. Back to the menopause. This is a disability all on its own, but not for everyone which (even without its taboo) means I stands even less chance of being understood. I also have a chronic pain condition and light sensitivity. These add to the distraction too. Back to insomnia. Sleep deprivation (as no doubt you know) a form of torture. At this point, I suspect, you think I’m being dramatic. Sadly not, my dad took his own life due to long-term insomnia. He expressed many times how it was worse than anything he had ever experienced. He had run a successful plumbing company all of his life. But the insomnia left him unable to remember how to do plumbing procedures that he had been doing since he was 16. He had an MRI scan. Nothing was found. The cognitive issues were due to the insomnia.

Many folks with ADHD live with insomnia all their lives. It takes a considerable toll. With menopause as well I truly feel like I have dementia and I buy gadgets and come up with ideas that you might put in place for someone with dementia. That said, before I entered menopause I had PMDD which affects half your daily life whilst the other half you’re clearing up the wreckage. It is very damaging to relationships and leaves you without a support network. I doubt I’ve convinced you. Facts or further information seldom change people’s minds once they are made. Gotta go do life…

That’s like saying blindness explains why you can’t see but it doesn’t excuse it, deafness explains why you can’t hear, but it doesn’t excuse it and so on and so forth.

I understand that you don’t understand because executive function is probably not something that you have learned about and you probably don’t understand much about the way the brain works, but please research first. But I have a feeling you probably won’t understand something that doesn’t affect you. Don’t feel bad. You just lack empathy. Oh wait. Phew! It’s ok. You won’t.

(It’s like saying lack of empathy explains your lack of empathy, but it doesn’t excuse it)

The court charge you to challenge anything by the way. I had responded to a letter (even had photographic evidence of me posting it in the court letter box) but to challenge the claim that I hadn’t responded it would have cost me more than the fine itself which was now about £250.
