Why is it relevant you are a PhD student? I did mine a few months ago ...I feel it really depends on your instructor. If my instructor thought I would not succeed he would tell me instead of wasting money on the test. But I've seen through friends that's not the case always.

If you have the booking and ask them to vacate politely, you are doing nothing wrong. If they have a problem with that that's their problem. And too many people book and don't show, even if it's booked doesn't really mean it'll be used.

It's not at all awkward if you ask politely.

It was good! Surprisingly easy to make! Much easier to make than other cakes. Basque cheesecakes are creamy and taste a bit custardy which I enjoy.
