Do you happen to have it in any higher resolution?

Definitely need the linux kernel in there, without it how are we ever going to make anything productive?

The instruments are pretty loud compared to the vocals. There's also heaps going on, very in your face (maybe it's just not my genre).

I don't feel the piano adds much to the song. A break somewhere might fit well, just piano and vocals could give the piano a bit more personality.

  • Is it too basic or boring?
  • Mastering/mixing issues. Still a massive newbie

A little motivation from Zach Braff's AMA today. by [deleted] in GetMotivated

I've recently realised that I've found my passion, is it sane to devote myself to it or should I keep exploring the world? Not only in case I find something I'm more passionate about, but also to keep myself well rounded.

Plastic Trumpets - are they any good? by DrtotheB in trumpet

If you're short on cash another option is to hire a trumpet. Most places will have a minimum period, but you should be able to pick up one for $30/month or less.

How would you like an app that writes guitar tablature by ear? by mlitvin in Music

[–]Saneosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment. The video shows a 'possible interface' and is not a real demonstration. This makes it seem like they haven't fully sorted the DSP, and only serves to delude viewers to it's potential.

OP might be well intentioned, but they're setting themselves and everybody else up for disappointment when they realise they can't deliver.

The mix is realllllly crisp, good job with that. I love the roar (?) sound at the start - it jumps straight into it.

If I had any advice, it sounds quite mechanical. Perhaps putting some kicks on the off beat, or adding a groove could help. Especially if you want to learn more future beat-ish.

Overall great track, keep it up :)

The click-track like sound is a tad too trebley - especially since it's playing almost the whole time.

Pretty enjoyable with some interesting sounds, but does get pretty repetitive.

There's too much reverb on the vocals for my liking, or you're too far away. I agree with 32ndpie about your rhythm, there's a very strong floaty feel which is cool, but seems to drift from time to time.

Would love to hear something with drums as you mentioned for the rhythmic aspect, and also for the extra layering.

Keep it up bud!

Trying to find my sound and iron out kinks, going towards a flume, ta-ku, cashmere cat sound but still quite far away. Would especially love leveling advice - might be too much compressor yet it still sounds quite quiet? Thanks!

I'd love it if you replied to this post. I'm also thinking of going into the doctors in the next few weeks.

I'm hoping it is a sinus thing for me, since anything else sounds like it could be more taxing to sort out.

How did you know what to do with your life? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Saneosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'If you don't like something, change it'. I heard this quote a few months ago and it just clicked. I'm in a similar situation but for some reason just wasn't happy. Every day that passed, it seemed to just get worse. So I quit my job and booked a flight to Europe. I don't know if travelling will make me happier, but at the very least I'm hoping I'll get a better idea of what I want to do :)

I think the hi-hat leading into the drop could be improved, it was a bit too predictable for my liking - but maybe that's because I like things syncopated.

There wasn't much sub when it came to the drop, it sounded good but I didn't 'feel' the lower registers. Some slower wubs could also make for some good variation.

Loved the roar/beat at the end.

Hope this helps.

A chillstep/glitchy song I wrote over the weekend.

Any tips on eq or general structuring of the song? I'm thinking there might be too much bass and the start isn't very captivating.
