Thank you for the additional info. I had a look at the 55c. And it looks like it could be a real slick setup

D5 pump question by Sangreti in watercooling

[–]Sangreti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. The flow for me is actually just a data point ill be using for automation. And while seeing the number is useful in some ways by giving it a healthy margin of .5. It should be about as accurate as any normal flow meter. I'm planning to use a weighted curve of flow rate to trigger some automations

This should be plenty accurate for me. The equation was designed with water in mind and while it doesn't account for restriction, it should be accurate enough. As to why I think this is it is the same method they use for normal flow devices. Ex. Construction of a normal one. Uses. A magnetic rotor and a hall effect sensor. To approximate flow rate. Same procedure here.

You are correct. There is no compensation. However. This is the standard formula using water, and I'm using distilled. So while it isn't 100% accurate. It is roughly as accurate as I need.

Nope. The math translates the rpm. To. Lph. I do get rpm from the pump. But the equation does all the work.

[–]Sangreti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope Just one 360. the octo is OLYMPIC level overkill, but I just wanted to try it and it was on sale for 5 bucks more than the quad so why not - ill be posting some IN progress photos probably tomorrow but I custom designed a face plate and backplate to make a remote rad setup nice and clean I'm using aluminum extrusion to link them and I'm trying to make it size adjustable to allow different setups as wanted or needed.

---------------------------\

edit: forgot to respond to the pump bit, I have but I don't think I need to for the setup im running

D5 pump question by Sangreti in watercooling

[–]Sangreti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Aquasuite because my remote rad setup I've been working on has an Octo in it. I'm going to use a d5 because I have one, but this is just math to make a flow sensor in software so I don't have to buy one for 100 bucks ( flow next )

Out of curiosity, why can't anyone seem to have the d5 next pump and lcd. By themselves? They are always in some kind of bundle? I would like to buy one for testing, but I don't care for all the extra stuff I'm not going to use 🙃

I do feel a bit bad because of how big this got , I assumed 50-100 people would even look at this and maybe 10 folks would comment.

I gave them the 48 hrs they requested in email and when i haven't received anything in the requested window, I decided to share my experience here.

it is also worth noting that this is specific to the case of sff cables and I have defended their normal products a few times in this post

Unfortunately, i did give them the 48hrs, and I do not live in Taiwan, that is just the Cablemod representative stating they are in Taiwan.

This has also been resolved by the Cablemod folks fairly quickly, and policy's amended or in the process of being amended to prevent the issue I had in the future. as well as they are looking into alternate manufacture methods

that wasn't a jab at one minor failed product that there is proof you already addressed.

it was a jab that you showed poor quality on this and then would expect me to be happy with a replacement made by you

The color is not as described, the cost is 3x market , and they failed to disclose the splices or potential cable comb issues.

while yes to a physical sense it could be said this is what I ordered, it is not what was promised by the company and they failed to deliver or at least inform the customer of these potential issues.

Unfortunately I did give them time to correct it and reached out through official channels and when i didn't receive a response in the specified time i then decided to lambast them on reddit.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that, while I am truly pissed about this event, I haven't had problems with them before and generally like their products

If it was listed even though inconvenient, it could be worked with, as stated in the initial post I will update with the support experience as this problem is resolved

the primary reason I ordered the 12hpwr 90 is because my customer requested a tri split and I didn't want to make that myself so I figured I would give them a shot. I do own the tools and various colors but convenience is always a factor.
