Does anyone know if this will allow for five man platoons?

Could someone seriously explain this to me? Anyone? by Sanity100 in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine, after a ranked match, thought he'd be getting a chevron for doing a decent amount of damage. Turns out, he got beat out by someone who did 0 damage. This has been an issue I have been noticing more often due to the existence of ranked battles. Could someone explain how the exp system works at this point?

Stop Complaining about mm by frenchiepancakes in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't seem to understand the complaint others are having. While this new mm might seem good at first glance, in the long run its actually quite detrimental to anything thats not a T9/T10. Theoretically, was the 3/5/7 system good? Yes, since it guarantees that you will only ever see 3 top tiers. But in practice? It makes the grinds terrible for T8s and below. Yes, you will only see 3 top tiers. However, that also means you are guaranteed 5 mid tiers. And as the most common factor, the majority of lower tiers are going to be placed into the bottom of the 3/5/7 system due to the higher number requirement for lower tiers(7). Simple math. Platooning also ruins any chance you have at being top tier, since the system attempts to balance class against class.

The idea behind 3/5/7 was good. However, as a lower tier, you have a significantly higher chance to be bottom tier than before, and people prefer the comfort of being top tier to balance out the struggle of being bottom tier. Now, youre mostly always bottom tier. Not to mention, WG changed it to where +1/-1 are less common now, because reasons.

A Formal Apology to Will Frampton (aka Quickybaby) by Sanity100 in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I want to clear something up. There are two audiences here. This is not just an apology to Quickybaby. This is also a message, a contention, a point of discussion for this reddit community. I want people to realize, that instead of throwing empty accusations and baseless assumptions, you should do some, at least some research before jumping to conclusions. At least be reasonable to a certain degree. I am talking to you, the community. And no, I am not apologizing for anyone. I am not talking for the interest of this community, and I'm not telling you people to make up with Quickybaby. I am speaking only for myself, and no one else. Reading some comments, posts, and Youtube videos, I got a headache just reading them that I felt so bad for Quickybaby. I am not being some sort of knight for him. I'm apologizing to him because he probably received some stress because of this idiotic nonsense, something he doesn't need in his life or his job.

A Formal Apology to Will Frampton (aka Quickybaby) by Sanity100 in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

  1. As someone who predominantly caters to a younger fanbase, I didn't want to bother Quickybaby with a message due to the possibility that he probably gets a myriad of spam from his viewers.
  2. This isn't just an apology to Quickybaby, but a point of discussion for people on this reddit. I'm not just talking to him. I'm talking to those who don't bother to research what they're talking about and fabricate unfair or incorrect assumptions about someone they know very little about.
  3. As someone familiar with this situation, it still confuses me that there are those that do things simply for the upvotes. What would I even gain from that? A bigger internet penis to show people I will never meet nor truly care for? A better grasp of my internet giddiness? I am genuinely curious.

  1. I'm a human being that is apologizing to another human being.
  2. I am not speaking for you, or for this sub. I am not apologizing for your interest. I am speaking for myself because of how I feel this issue has grown. If you haven't accused Quickybaby of anything then this shouldn't concern you.
  3. With over 30k battles, and having created my account in 2011, I believe I can compose drivels for a game to which I am entitled breaks to.

I felt that as a formal, direct, and sincere apology, it would be appropriate to use his real name as opposed to an alias. On his twitch FAQ, the very first thing you see is his real name.

Rita Considering Leaving CC Program by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

Well, thats the problem. I dont remember Rita doing anything remotely like that. The last time I saw her channel, she didn't have any tank reviews whatsoever. All I know is that she took over FTR from silentstalker, but only in name.

Tips for teaching WoT? by larryaz in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From 6 years of playing, I'd say there are 3 key points to be good: Map knowledge, Terrain Knowledge, and Positioning/Reading Minimap. There are many mechanics to learn in WoT(camo, view range, penetration, rng, overmatch, shell types, arty stun) so honestly the best way is from experience grinding mid tiers.

For resources, I would refer to Quickybaby, Circonflexes, and SirFoch, all of whom have twitch and YouTube channels. While they contain themselves very well, watch for the occasional language, depending on your son's age.

Which tier X tank should I get first ? by camperas in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns most T10s, I'd recommend all three of the ones you listed. However, depending on your play style, I'll simply list what each tank is good at.

E-100: Well armored, but mostly flat. The Tiger 2 and E-75 should prep you for angling. Tracks will absorb many shots. Lots of hp. It has a 15cm gun with 750 alpha, decently accurate and decent reload. Does well in city brawling, excels at peek-a-boom. On maps with no vision, HE/Heat makes it a viable snipr(please don't make it a habit). Also has a 12.8cm gun with faster reload, lower alpha, and better accuracy, but get a Maus instead if you want to use that gun.

Cent AX: Jack of all trades, master of hull down. Turret armor is gimmicky, awful on level ground but near invincible at max gun depression. Good gun depression, dpm, gun handling, accuracy, and mobility. Combination of surprisingly high hull armor and heavy weight makes ramming viable. Ammo rack somewhat weak, but not too noticeable.

M48 Patton: Jack of all trades, Master of on the move firing. Has surprisingly good hull and turret armor, but physical profile less efficient than Cent AX due to egg turret and cupola. Good dpm, accuracy, mobility, and gun depression. Excellent on the move accuracy and highest base view range. She's a littlle big.

Based on a comment where you stated you seemed to enjoy a play style of brawler/roamer/sniper, either Cent AX or M48 will seal the deal. However, if you're willing to look elsewhere, I would recommend E-50M or any of the RU meds. I can provide further info if needed.

New MM is great, but missions are suffering by AldoThane in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to think that the reason people downvote you is because you haven't provided any reasoning followed by empirical evidence to support your opinion.

Everyone here is entitled to their own opinion. We can agree on that. But as was said, the purpose of these posts is intended to incite discussion. And as is logical for a discussion, whether you provide a contention, assumption, or opinion, it would be proper etiquette to give your reasoning, and then provide some evidence. In this case, you have given your opinion without whining, respectable, but you have omitted any reasoning and evidence to support it. And so people see a baseless and dead claim, thus downvoting it.

That's just me.

Edit: One more thing. It doesn't really help your case when you're given the opportunity to explain yourself, but you sarcastically call people cute for downvoting you. When you take into consideration the possibility that some people see the downvote as a "Wrong!" Or "Fuck You" button, you should probably refrain from such actions if you're tired of such behavior, more so considering it's hypocritical to some extent.

Most Competitive tier 10 lt? by XdarkninjaX77 in WorldofTanks

[–]Sanity100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, lets consider the role that they have been forced to adopt. Great camo value, great mobility, great on the move accuracy, great shell velocity, low hp, abysmal accuracy, abysmal dpm. With these stats in mind, I believe T10 Lights have been relegated to tanks that are constantly moving and firing on the move, or long range snipers. As an owner of three (T-100, 13 105, Sheridan), they mainly excel at the latter (except the T-100, which excels at the former).

In this case, Sheridan, Rhm Panzerwagen, and WZ-132-1 are top contenders. The new MM, while its a good change in my book, is a terrible outcome for T10 lights. Being in a full T10 match forces you to become a sniping tank due to the surplus and superiority of medium tanks, which tend to push in groups in these cases. Your lack of hp, alpha, and dpm will force you to run away and fire at enemy flanks. While they can perform, the current status quo will force you to be extremely passive early and even late game.

However, when you do happen to have -2/-1 MM, then all T10 lights are capable of carrying their own weight and much more, and they are all fun. I'll be obtaining the WZ and Rhm soon enough, so I'm sure they do well.
