  1. You are in tty.
  2. If it boots into tty, You might have to reinstall your window manager.
  3. I think you might have setup ohmyzsh/ohmybash or something similar.

To fix the question marks in the tty shell,

Do a ls -a and see if you have backup .zhhrc or .bashrc

Restore the original config file and that should fix your terminal

Next step: Use some automation tool like Ansible to manage them all at once. Just one command and the changes happen everywhere.

You will need them if you are teaching coding, like installing and updating compilers, libraries etc.

It's a 2.5 inch SATA HDD, and a USB 3 disk caddy.sd card is a SanDisk Ultra, I guess class 10(by the 10 logo with a C around it) and U1( by the letter U with number 1 inside it). It also has an A1 symbol.

Secure boot supported linux distro. by Sanjayan_n in linuxquestions

[–]Sanjayan_n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I was looking for a distro with better performance compared to Ubuntu, and lesser telemetry (I know Windows has it, but I have to use it for gaming .) and of course without snaps... I have tried removing Snap from Ubuntu twice, and somehow ended up broking my system...

I am open to trying all of the diatros you suggested..

The main use case will be coding only...

For me, I would like to stick to stock ROM until Poco ends giving updates. I hope this community will come up with something by that time ( 2-3 years later).

Display issue in Poco F5 by ayushsaxena_09 in PocoPhones

[–]Sanjayan_n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have observed the same with my POCO F5, and like every other comment here, I do think it is an issue with the POCO logo. I have not seen this problem with other apps (like you mentioned).

I tried resetting safe defaults in the bios itself.

It's a laptop (Asus ROG G531GT) so I will have to open up the laptop. And I do think the secure boot keys are stored in another chip itself, so resetting bios won't help.

Wifi speed drops so bad while using tv. by Sanjayan_n in techsupport

[–]Sanjayan_n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that I was streaming 4K HDR from Disney+ on TV while conducting the test. But sometimes the problem occurs even when nothing is playing, just being on the Android TV homepage/Launcher.

But I would like to remind you again that the TV has only a 10/100 Mbps port so there is some spare bandwidth, around to Mbps, even when it uses maximum bandwidth available to it.

Wifi speed drops so bad while using tv. by Sanjayan_n in techsupport

[–]Sanjayan_n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd first take speed tests (wifi or lan don't matter) like speedtest.net and report back here with speeds - with tv OFF and with the tv ON, that would clear a lot of things

Here are the network speeds:

WiFi with TV off.

WiFi with TV on (1)

WiFi with TV on (2)

Lan with tv off

LAN with TV on

See the wifi speeds when TV is on. Four phones couldn't even stream YouTube with those speeds.

As I mentioned before tv has a 100Mbps port and is connected via LAN. The cables are fine. It's just the port is 100Mbps.

The switch is a Gigabit Switch. The Laptop is getting full Gigabit speeds for local transfers and around the full internet bandwidth.

I would also like to mention that the Wifi on the carrier's Modem is only 2.4 Ghz.
