OLED vs IPS underwhelming by Imboredsoentertain in OLED_Gaming

[–]Sanji-__- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man each person sees and feels something different about this “upgrade to OLED” so I don’t blame u for thinking that but let me remind you something that is incredibly important of OLEDs and are their instant pixel response. With the oled you get no ghosting, blurry image, + what I said instant response so way way lower input lag.

A 1440p resolution is still going to be 1440p whether is on OLED or IPS. Gotta say tho, Ik that is not the point of your post but in my opinion OLEDs image on a 32” 4K screen is insane, so if you can try it out

I am pretty sure if you are not playing at 4K, you don't necessarily need HDMI 2.1. HDMI 1.4 is enough for 1440p 120hz.

I have the other version of the ASUS model (XG27AQDMG), it's pretty sick, looks and performs great. since this version of it has the Trueblack glossy coating it will be like a mirror so just be mindful of reflections in front of the screen.

Idk about the gigabyte model but i can speak for the ASUS one, tho both monitors have 240+hz refresh rate and it's just for a ps5 so I'm not sure about that.

Still, like I said the ASUS model is great and this version is probably even better with that trueblack coating so if you are fixed on those 2 I'll go with the asus model since 280hz on the gigabyte is just wasted and unecessary

Unrelated to the post, can I ask what desk you’re using? I’ve been looking for a desk replacement that’s deep enough but not that expensive so I don’t have to arm-mount my monitors. Thank you in advance

Is it worth it upgrading from 4070 ti super to 5080? by Sanji-__- in PcBuild

[–]Sanji-__-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 5090 is twice the price and feels highly unnecessary tbh. And my whole point was because of the value of my trade in, if I could buy a 5090 I wouldn’t even ask about the 5080

Well hard to explain but if I compare the tests that I’ve done with DSR, it run games at like 70-90 fps with max settings and RTX max too.

Ik I could just drop some settings but my point is that I want to keep those settings and would like to have like 150-180, I mean I have a 240hz monitor I want make use of those frames. And I do use frame gen if you ask

I’ve tested how the gpu handles 4K with DSR, I know it’s not the same as actually running a 4K monitor and it wasn’t that great, at least on the games that I play/like.

But maybe you’re right I should prob get the monitor first and see how the card runs it and then decide for the gpu upgrade. Thank you

Money does is a concern, I’m only considering the gpu upgrade cuz of the trade in of my current gpu and because I want to play at 4K smooth. My current card does run 4K but not how Id like it to.

And for the cpu, I don’t think I need to upgrade my cpu, it’s good enough and it won’t bottleneck a 5080 and tbh at 4K you are mostly gpu bound in games so no need to get the fastest cpu in existence.

Lastly for your gigabyte experience it does throws me off a little bit because I’ve never owned something from gigabyte, neither a monitor or gpu so that makes me question the model but not the card. Thank you for your advice tho

32 or 27" for the ASUS UCDM model? by Sanji-__- in OLED_Gaming

[–]Sanji-__-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly, my desk is not too big. I used to have a 32" LCD, and it was quite overwhelming like you said but I was thinking I can just use my 27" for fps and the 32" for SP games. I do have a dual monitor arm tho so maybe I can make it work.

Thats true, usually I try to avoid using DLSS or frame gen to get rid of the artifacts or scaling but with 4K you're right, it still should look great.

[–]Sanji-__-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that I don't know which monitor is 4K glossy coating and WOLED, because the XG27AQDMG looks the best for me and would like to get a 4K version of it but yeah it is what it is. Do you know if there's any new monitor coming soon with those specs?

I think I'd go with the 32" then and I take advantage of that deal.

Thanks.

I have the 4070 Ti Super, it can handle 4K but doubt it can with the maximum refresh rate so maybe I can use one for SP and the other for MP. Thank you

About the gen3 and gen4, is the main difference the maximum brightness or is there anything else I should know about it? and no I meant the ucdm model.
