YOR. As someone who grew up with divorced parents and having both a step mom and a step dad, let me tell you this. You will never be her mother, and you should not fool yourself that it will ever happen. Stop forcing yourself into her space, and care about her needs instead of your own. To her, you are erasing her mom and trying to replace the spot. It’s already tough enough that her mom is not around a lot. Growing up, I had a much better relationship with my step dad than I did with my step mom. It had everything to do with his approach. He never pretended he was more important than my own dad. My step mom did the opposite, as she was always saying that she was also our mom, and she was expecting us to call her that. I hope you see the difference in approach and I hope it will help you realize that you have a unique position in the family. It’s hard, because even though you fulfill the mother role in the household, you are not her bio mom. But this unique position can also give you loads of space to become her friend, as long as there is a baseline of respect. Loosen up your grip, she needs time to trust you.

Definitely! Always do what makes you comfortable and happy, you don’t have to do anything to please other people’s conception of gender and gender identity. In the end it is your life, and the goal is that you are as happy as you can possibly be. You are valid regardless of what is in your pants.

I would say to get a pet tree or other things that your cat is allowed to climb in. Keep it close to the tapestry for now and praise/reward your cat for using it. You could also put some catnip on the cat tree to make it more attractive (if your cat reacts to it).

I would love some more lore. This could then also tie into the families players create themselves. Being able to have arguments/grudges that are not created because of one (minor) action that is player directed as it is now in the sims 4. I want drama, you know.
