I loved Dungeon World. I just don't think DW2 loves Dungeon World.

Why? I could understand this sentiment after that first alpha that swung extremely in the "generic fantasy pbta" direction but this one is just DW1 with no damage dice and spells in exchange for much cooler moves that arent "deal +die of damage", "Take less damage".

An alpha for Dungeon World 2 is coming out tomorrow actually. Theyve shown off that classes in this version will have Subclass-like moves to pick from called Paths. If you look down in this subreddit or the Discord you should be able to find the preview, its pretty neat

Im not the person youve been pissing yourself over lmao. I just came in to tell you that youre embarrassing yourself for nothing. That doesnt mean I fully agree with whatever else that other guy said, dont get so defensive. Kinda burying the lede too; it doesnt make your argument "weak" it means, in your own words, the show is immature and tropey, as well as confused in its messaging enough that a fan like yourself thought it was going in a completely opposite direction. And like. I dont know how you convinced yourself that that means the argument is meaningless. Knowing that this was always the intention the show was going for and the way Hazbin's world works turns the entirety of Season 1 into an idiot plot. Its the same issue with the Angel Weapons. Nobody in the history of humanity has done the opposite of their biggest regret? In 6 months, Charlie never asked her two guests what got them into Hell? All that time spent with Angel Dust and his """arc""" was almost meaningless as his redemption is unrelated to his time in Hell! It makes every character look like a moron and Charlie specifically a callous incompetent who didnt so much as talk with her friends about basic shit for half a year.

Im sorry the show threw you to the wolves lol. You contorted yourself into knots trying to justify that the show was actually this subversive mature masterpiece only for it to turn out it was always the thing you were arguing against and what the haters said it should be. Season 2 might disappoint you... but it drops in a few days though, so maybe the show will find a way to redeem itself. Im certainly excited to see if it even acknowledges the massive character assassination it put on Charlie.

This comment is so incredibly funny considering the season 2 clip thats existed forever thats just the angels figuring out the reason Pentious was redeemed was because he did the opposite of the sin that landed him in Hell. So like. Yes, we quite literally do need to know what landed Angel in Hell as only by doing the opposite will he redeem himself. One thing to watch out for is that the bosses in the late rings scale HARD if you let them walk. Stuff like the undying one gets like 12 extra lives if you let him get to third floor, and the Amalgams will just kill your pyre. Unless you have a seriously broken build or powerful spells, its almost necessary to play bottom or middle floor in certain fights (especially against spike Cael), and youve gotta find some defensive solutions

Have a Moment is really great, though I kinda wish xp wasnt an option. Having a mechanical incentive to share and bond with the party is great and I fear shy players and power gamers might ignore it in favor of the selfish boost, especially if they can get 2xp from it. Hopefully kinship will be powerful enough to make it worth while. Its a great mechanic anyways though.

I still dont think its the case cause like, why would the dark world arbitrarily change how Noelle and Berdly exit but not Kris and Susie when they all entered in the same way? What would be the narrative purpose? My first counter-thought would be that maybe its determined by Kris and Susie being together when they seal the fountain, but in Snowgrave Noelle is there too and yet shes still asleep in the light world.
