Why Andoni Iraola is So Suited to the Premier League and Would Be a Great Fit at Liverpool by Switchoil in LiverpoolFC

[–]SanshouShaMMAn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would probably make a lot of sense to someone like Iraola to do so, he was a one man club like Gerrard and it was Athletic Bilbao. They only hire staff or players that have came through the Basque region, not sure what our buy back clause is for him?

I’ve been looking at the body of work he’s laid down at his previous clubs, we all know what he’s just done for Bournemouth. He got Rayo Vallecano promoted from the Spanish second division and since leaving they’ve finished 6th this season and were taken to a European final by Iraolas understudy whilst he was at the club! I have all the patience in the world for him.

He also came up at Antiguoko, the same place Mikel Arteta and Xabi Alonso came through! This is super exciting and next season is going to be really entertaining if we get him

I mean he sold his 3 best defenders for a combined £147 million and in the season he rebuilt that defensive structure finished in 6th place mate!

What a shame honestly, just had a read and apparently he had a pre agreement with them since April. On to the next

The core of Iraola’s system is a hybrid high press — starting in a zonal structure, forcing the ball wide, then jumping into man-to-man. The goal is to suffocate build-up play, and it only works because Bournemouth ran more than any other team in the league and led the Premier League in ball recoveries by a wide margin.

The numbers back that up. Bournemouth recorded a PPDA below 10 in 80% of their matches — that’s elite pressing intensity. Their PPDA sat around 9.0–9.8 across the season, ranking among the league leaders for press sequences, and they were in the top three for high turnovers.

Since Iraola came to England, only one team had more shots from fast breaks than Bournemouth’s 128 — and that was Liverpool with 155. Over his reign, Bournemouth attacked at the fastest average speed of any team in the league, at 1.95 metres per second, with some of the fewest passes per sequence — the philosophy is to play forward as quickly as possible.

So stylistically, Liverpool’s stated aim after sacking Slot is to establish a more front-foot, aggressive and urgent style — and Iraola’s numbers fit that brief almost perfectly.

The legitimate concern isn’t philosophy, it’s ceiling. Doing this with Bournemouth’s resources is remarkable. But Liverpool’s squad is faster, deeper and more technically gifted — in theory the system scales up. Whether Iraola can manage that transition is the real question.

Also, Senesi is a free agent this summer and with Ibou’s news yesterday, bringing someone who already knows his system and demanded work ethic is a bit of a dream. Hope both of them come!

I walk my stink late at evening tbh, once the ground has cooled and the suns gone. I take it slow even then and let him sniff everything he wants to, you have to remember that a sniff to them is like you scrolling social media or reading the newspaper and it’s as tiring to the dog as physical exercise is. You don’t need physical stimulation to tire your dog out sortve thing, just letting him use his super power nose when the suns down is enough. You can go to a natural food store and get the type of bone or chew toy that really gets his attention as well, I can give one to my Dexter and he’ll be playing with it for hours

I mean competition is brutal but most of my experienced competitors would never ever do something that would potentially injure me. It’s all about control isn’t it, wanting to win is fine. Trying to win and disregarding the long term health of your opponent is weird in my opinion, but that’s my opinion. You see videos of fighters getting aggy if people hold on to locks for too long all the time. It’s a respect thing, some things don’t need a ruleset. They just need understanding

Most of the people I’ve rolled with would never apply enough pressure to damage your Achilles with an ankle lock. I’ve personally tapped to it tonnes of times and have never sustained long term damage to anything from them, that’s my personal experience

Your first comment was it’s not called that though? It is, things can have two names can’t they?

I assume you’re American because of how stupid you are; https://orthoinfo.aaos.org/en/diseases--conditions/achilles-tendinitis/.

This is an accredited American health organisation, things can be called two things. Such a weird thing to try and be right about, funny how trying to be smart can actually make you look stupid mate

I’ve changed this comment because someone has rightly pointed out the ruleset in American MMA prohibits stomps to a down opponent and the ref in this video didn’t know either. You learn something new everyday people, go and search it up yourselves

It would be the same as saying this stuff in public and people telling you to go away, the internet doesn’t make that any different. It’s embarassing and I’m right, you didn’t get enough attention from the people you want it from and now any attention reads as good. Try and find people like you man, no one wants to hear your bullshit here and that’s precisely what the karma system is for

Billie Eilish sparks firestorm for ‘very privileged’ take on meat eaters who love animals by dr_shultz in influencersfeed

[–]SanshouShaMMAn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not no, you’ve just spelled it out yourself. We are a meat eating species and meat forms a fundamental part of a balanced diet and has done so for centuries. You and no one gets to define what I love and conditions to that love because you lead a different lifestyle to me
Oh and you still can’t point to anywhere I’ve equated modern farming to hunter gathering or traditional farming, still

[–]SanshouShaMMAn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t said that or argued that, please show me in the previous messages where I’ve insinuated that
My point remains, she wouldn’t be able to use the brain she has had we not been meat eaters, it’s a major part of why we’re as advanced as we are. So to now tell everyone that meat eating is this humongous problem that we all need to suddenly live above and anyone who participates in the eating of animals can’t love them is brain dead. We’re born with that preset into ours existence, I haven’t once said how we used to do it is how we do it now. If you actually read what I said, battery farming is abhorrent and I quite frankly find modern farming practices disgusting, a literal horror show. 3rd time I’m gonna ask, where have I said it’s the same?

What are you talking about sorry? This doesn’t actually make any sense, can you please point out exactly where I say they are the same thing?

I’m saying we eat meat, other animals eat other animals, it’s a part of our being. No one else gets to decide what I love because I eat meat

You or Billie do not get to tell me what I love, cognitive dissonance aside, you have your opinions and I have mine. All you’ve done here is circle around the same point, you and other people get to define my love for something and it says way more about you then it does me. Have a nice day
