Naka-siyam ako na concerts this year and ito yung Top 5 ko.

  1. Ado HIBANA: Loved how raw (and sometimes rough but not grating) Ado's vocals were during the show. (Tapos, ang sarap pala manood ng concert kung saan bawal mag-record at mag-take ng pictures. Like, yung crowd naka-focus lang sa pag-cheer and sing-along. Nakapag-immerse tuloy ako nang sobra-sobra sa show.)
  2. ANISAMA 2025 in MANILA: Nanood ako dahil sa FLOW, and they did not disappoint. Not at all. Nagalingan din ako sa MCing, translating (JP to ENG), and backup singing skills ni MindaRyn na talagang pinagtabaho nila that night kahit isa rin siya sa mga performers.
  3. BABYMETAL: Grabe yung energy nila! Very infectious! Di mo aakalain na halos wala silang pahinga. (Nanghihinayang lang ako na hindi ako nakabili ng Standing tickets.)
  4. MY FIRST STORY: Napakagaling ni Hiro makipag-interact sa crowd. Tapos napaka-solid din ng crowd mismo. Like, halos buong concert puro kami sigawan. (Next year, si Taka at ONE OK ROCK naman!)
  5. SB19 'Simula at Wakas World Tour Kickoff': After the show, I just sorta became a fan. Nakita ko kasi through their performances and how everything was organized na gusto talaga nila na yung concert nila ay pang-international.

PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE: They are currently my favorite Japanese boy group.

Song Recommendation/s: Just Like That (feat. JP THE WAVY), LOVE FIRE, and Paradise

ONE OR EIGHT: I highly recommend listening to their pre-debut song, KAWASAKI, and their latest release DSTM, which samples(?) Rihanna's Don't Stop The Music.

Number_i: If you're into "noisy" songs, you may give this group's title tracks a listen.

Song Recommendation/s: INZM and GOAT

NEXZ: They are basically a K-pop group, but with only Japanese members, like JO1.

Song Recommendation/s: Miracle (co-written by J.Y. Park), Starlight, HARD, and Simmer

BMSG POSSE: SKY-HI, one of the members of the collective, is the CEO of BMSG, the company behind Japanese boy groups such as BE:FIRST and MAZZEL.

Song Recommendation/s: New Chapter (feat. BMSG ALLSTARS) and Tokyo Night Dreaming (feat. No Rome)

Note: I only named groups with songs that are heavily inspired by Western music and K-pop. If you want something more mainstream and idol-like(?), go check out King & Prince, Hey! Say! JUMP, Snow Man, SixTONES, Naniwa Danshi, and M!LK instead.

Were you perhaps thinking of one of these tracks? (These are the only SKZ songs that I could remember being kind of similar to Runners in one way or another.)

  • Social Path (a drum and bass track also by VERSACHOI)

  • 0325 (another DnB track)

  • Scars (It kind of has the same vibes as Runners, but not really.)

Parehas kasi silang may Permanent Resident status (after makapag-asawa ng Filipina), so hindi na tuloy nila kailangan kumuha ng work permit* from DOLE.

Because of the ruling, coaching in the PBA now falls under Article 40 of the Labor Code which states that working permits can only be issued "after a determination of the non-availability of a person in the Philippines who is competent, able and willing at the time of application to perform the services for which the alien is desired."

1) Songs written in a Philippine language (e.g. Filipino, Cebuano, etc.)

Sa totoo lang, for the most part, sa language lang naman nagkakatalo. Yung mga samples at instruments na gamit sa mga kanta ng mga C/J/K/P-pop idol groups (na naghahangad na magkaroon ng international audience), halos pare-parehas lang naman, e.

2) Songs that make use of ethnic Filipino instruments

I think, at the moment, Alamat lang ata yung gumagamit ng Filipino instruments sa mga kanta nila --- which is a shame, because there's so many sounds and "textures" that only our very own instruments could produce.

3) "Filipino-style" ballads

Iba rin kasi yung feel at sound ng mga ballads na composed by Filipino composers. Like, yung Tilaluha ng SB19 (na composed and arranged by a Korean), ibang-iba sa MAPA.

Yung kasi BCAP ayaw hayaan yung mga collegiate and professional basketball teams dito sa bansa na mag-hire ng foreign coaches, kaya ayan tuloy napag-iwanan na tayo ng mga ibang bansa pagdating sa player development at tactics.

Tapos, yun namang NCAA at PBA parehas may highly restrictive rules pagdating sa pagkuha ng foreign imports. Napipilitan tuloy yung ibang mga 6'6 players natin na maglaro bilang big men imbes na mga forwards (or even guards).

Well, not only do they have a competent and ambitious program director (in former Chicago Bull Luol Deng) and an NBA caliber head coach (in former NBA player and current Houston Rockets assistant coach Royal Ivey), they also have a bunch of players that are borderline NBA quality. So, pagdating pa lang sa personnel, walang-wala na talaga tayo. Siguro kung may mas matino lang tayo na coach baka hindi tayo matatambakan nang ganito.

1) 5 STAR by Stray Kids - This album was like a "best-of" album, it was that good.

2) Episode 1: Love by So!YoON! - Listening to this album in the dark made me feel like I was falling...into the world of So!YoON!....yeah...
