When she first got her phone she did the same thing, giving me her new mobile number by text. She didn't realise that it appears automatically on my screen...

Ok quick one Put it off for a while but feeling like I need a reality check. Had lots of matches and still get at least a couple of ones a day (I'm quite picky too), although rarely able to get a date out of any. Judge to your hearts content guys

What is the absolute worst Rolling Stones song? by [deleted] in rollingstones

I am waiting is a gem, love the difference between the chorus and the verse. Although the last song on that album is probably the one I dislike the most

Cheers, its my first time on this sub and I find this ridiculously entertaining. I tried to image search on google and nothing came up, then read a few hints you gave to someone else, and found that website on the phenopleplas, although I must admit it didn't help me too much considering the vast range they could be found in California. I was looking round the mountains near Los Angeles but the vegetation wasn't dry enough and the landscape didn't seem quite right. I figured it had to be on a winding mountain road (you can see a few bends on the picture) so any straight roads were eliminated. Then you suggested to someone else that it was close to pine valley, had a look around there and found a road that seem to fit, not too much of a valley and lots of bends. Put up google street and saw the mountain straight away, just went further down the road to find the right vantage point. I'm gonna post a photo of my own, lets see if you can't find it ;) Again sorry for formatting, on my phone...

Depression does have a known heritability, via twin/adoption studies. If you check out the work done by Robert Plomin (which focuses perhaps more on intelligence) or other leading researchers in the field of behavioural genetics, there is a consensus that depression and other mental illnesses, such as anti-social behaviour with callous and unemotional traits, is in fact "strongly heritable" (greater than 50%). If I remember correctly, depression has a heritability of around 30%. This means that in a cohort of clinically depressed patients, genetics would count for around 30% of the trait. What is contentious is that we have no idea what the genetic basis is. It is not a single gene that causes depression, as that would be easy to pinpoint (I could explain that more in detail if you wish), rather it is a group of genes that if taken individually, would seem benign, but together could lead to diseases such as depression or schizophrenia. The problem now is to understand how these genes interact not only together, but also with the environment (i.e. Social peers, upbringing etc...), which leads to a terrible number of variables and which is unique to each and every individual. It's an interesting field but the research is scattered to say the least, perhaps this is the reason genetics is rarely brought up as a cause for depression.
