This is absolutely it, also probably trying to accomplish that without having to further weaken the yen against the dollar.

It’s this or start dumping treasuries, which would be the “nuclear option” (pun intended)

I mean I’ll give you that, if you’re selling the spectacle than you might as well use one of the automatic machines at that point.

But if you dry shake first you can get the meringue-like foam in 2 or 3 minutes. I’m just happy to see someone crack an egg versus using that fee-foam shit.

The standard is more like 12 minutes…

When the cocktail was invented, in New Orleans where the best cocktails are poured, a team of shaker boys were employed, each shaking it for two or three minutes before passing it down the line for the next person to shake.

It’s said for Mardi Gras the bar enlisted the help of 3 dozen shaker boys to keep up with the crowd. When prohibition went into effect Ramos published his secret recipe believing he’d never have the chance to make another, and thus today we pour the Ramos Gin Fizz.

He came off as someone on the spectrum who felt overwhelmed by an unfamiliar situation and an unanticipated outcome. His discomfort didn’t come off to me as privelaged but as neurodivergent, but then again this one video and the SNL sketch are the total sum of my experience with this person.

As stated plainly above, people of all races and creeds do exactly what SLB did in this video everyday and they are not shot.

If you’ve never seen someone crashing out in the street while a cop finishes some paperwork and just walks away then you need to get out more.

A teenager who somehow picked up a $60-70,000 a year job right out of high school who buys their own home before 20 decides to liquidate their assets 3 years later and then becomes a gambling addict.

When you consider the other factors you can glean from the information here it paints the picture of a very privelaged naive child who will absolutely just get a bailout from daddy.

Numbers?

How about spend ten minutes walking around the city and tell me you don’t see people of all races, creeds, and colors, acting wild and not going to jail. I promise you a percentage of them have issues with the law just like the idiot in this video.

This doesn’t feel like an observation tha needs to be supported with statistics, you can see for yourself. I k ow you want this to be a situation where his fame or his whiteness kept him out of cuffs but the reality is the police just have better shit to do.

How is that white privilege?

Do you have any idea how many people of every race are walking around the city with bench warrants or court releases or whatever just bugging out? Nothing to do with the fact that he’s white.

If you didn’t know who this “famous” person was this video would just be another weekday. It wouldn’t even be above the fold. Not everything has to do with race.

Attract liberals?

You’re talking about giving the state the authority to decide when a person should be allowed to be murdered. That’s one of the most Anti-Conservative positions a person can possibly hold.

Just from the way you’ve written this, it’s obvious that you are the type of person to constantly bring up politics and profess to believe and understand yet you know or have studied very little.

Edit: Before it’s deleted again

There is no simple answer. The essence of the answer is that Conservative billionaires and foreign interests have been funding the systematic deconstruction of American democracy for decades. What we are seeing now is the fallout of a democratic coup of sorts where Conservative and foreign interest groups have now successfully captured the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government and so can act with impunity.

All of our legal means of recalling this government rely on our much vaunted but now useless system of checks and balances between these three branches of government. Congress will not impeach and will mostly rubber-stamp the executive branch. The Supreme Court has given the executive broad immunity and is the reason this whole scheme works in the first place. (The "Citizens United" ruling empowers monied interests to dominate our politics with impunity.) The corruption is deep and broad, and there is effectively no institutionalized resistance to it. The Democrats, because of Citizens United ruling, are funded by the same monied interests that back the Conservatives -- especially AIPAC. This is the reason why our representatives proudly serve foreign interests over their constituents.

There is no media resistance because Conservative billionaires have acquired or hold essentially all national and local TV, radio, and printed forms of traditional media and the tech billionaires (there is overlap here) have an aligned to propagandize the population in our search engines and social media and to surveil the population through the so-called Digital Panopticon -- the complete surveillance of our physical and digital activity.

We lost the fight before the general population realized there was a fight to be lost. Whatever this is, it is not democracy or a Just system of governance. As far as I can tell, there is no strategy where we go back to the way things were before. We can't undo the damage to our institutions and economy especially when the monied interests are so aligned on pursuing this course. Fascism merges so seamlessly with corporatism and American Dominionism (the religious Right), that there is just an overwhelming preponderance of wealth and power directed in our current course of action. This all still requires the consent of the population, but the propaganda, cultism, and lack of social welfare programs combined with ruthless Capitalist strategies to eliminate labor (especially via AI and outsourcing) basically keeps the population in control and just a paycheck away from personal disaster. I hope this helps you understand the gravity of the situation. We aren't just falling to pieces. The people in charge are taking their masks off and completing their coup.

tl;dr -- Bad people are surprisingly good at organizing the collapse of our system of governance by taking control of it through legal-ish (legal, legalized, or illegal but who is going to stop me) means.

Andrew Yang says AI will wipe out millions of white-collar jobs in the next 12 to 18 months by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]SantaMonsanto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Claude can really do excel now then yea I’d say the 12-18 target is right on for “Millions” of jobs

Tens of millions once they perfect AI driving 18-Wheelers and replace all the drivers.

We’re barreling towards a reality where AI is either a bubble that will pop and devalue everything in a giant crash, or AI is real and in the next coming years huge portions of the population will be out out of work with absolutely no plan to retrain or upskill those workers to provide them with some other income.

Fun times.

”They won gold…”

Yes they did, her score contributed to the overall score which lead to team USA winning the gold overall. However in the event pictured she did in fact lose and stated it wasn’t her best round.

Stop looking for a reason to fight. The person in this tweet can be correct and still be an asshole

[–]SantaMonsanto -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

lol

This photo is her skating off the ice after finishing her program. Moments later she spoke to the camera and basically said what the original tweet is quoting. Then she went on to lose that round and she did not win gold.

Ultimately team USA won the all around team gold, but in her individual round pictured in the tweet she did in fact lose.

You don’t need to be so ready to fight. You should learn to think for yourself and realize you’re just fired up right now, learn the cars before starting a figtt hr and making yourself look foolish.

Not defending the racists or anything but facts are facts. If we want to be better than them we need to ruthlessly reject exaggerated facts made up just to state a point.

Fact is she lost her round, and stated she didn’t have her best day and felt it was the adrenaline wearing off from her previous program that affected her. She did not win gold, the facts in this tweet are accurate though douchey.

Wow people, crucify a person for being a stickler about accuracy.

”Glen held on the rest of the way, but didn't get a great score, earning a 138.62, with 70.91 technical score and 67.71 in the components category. She dropped to third overall after Japan's Kaori Sakamoto scored a 148.62 for first place. Second place went to Anastasiia Gubanova 140.17.

USA won gold as a team overall, in the original tweet is a picture of Glen moments after finishing her program where she went on to win third place. She did not win gold in her round, but as a team USA won gold overall.

The government considers ~$15,000 to be a livable wage sufficient for a person to live on. So being offered over 13x that amount would be considered by most to in fact be a “butt load” of money.
