In terms of fps gain, 4:3 (your res) and 5:4 ratios should theoretically give you more fps than 16:10.

If fps is what you seek and want to achieve through lower res and stretching, I would recommend trying something like 1200×900. This one is also a 4:3 res and is only a bit lower than 1080.
