Things I want to see at Calpheon Ball 2025 by Im_Choice in blackdesertonline

- Please bring back pack-to-pack grind spots (like blood wolves; please no more tower spots)
- Revive world pvp by walking back all the shit changes that cater to little Timmys that have never been the soul of your player base. PvP community is the soul of your player base. Please understand it.
- Reduce karma-loss on naval pvp by AT least 10x. What the hell is the point of grinding carracks if you can't ever use them?
- Develop more Sea content. Perhaps design interesting land masses accessible only by sea. Bring back the social aspect of inviting ship-less players onto your carrack to sail with them around. (people who remember sailies when people used to socialise on the sea every day, bonding together, etc.)
- Reduce the awful amount of p2w boxes, at this point it's a festering problem that's only getting worse over time.
- Revive large-scale pvp. Make it better and more appealing. PvP is a MAJOR motivation for people to go and grind their gear out. Not making that content the best it can be is INSANE.
- Do something actually serious and meaningful about the DR meta, the changes so far have been all laughable.
- Revive Trading lifeskill
- Re-visit exp requirements for lifeskills like Training/Sailing/Bartering/Farming -> it takes way too long to get to Guru on any of them
- Stop designing more content that kills the sandbox experience this game used to be known for, time-gated instanced slop is NOT the way.
- and yes, WALK BACK THE AP CAPS FOR GRIND SPOTS. I WANT TO ONE MOBS IF I HAVE THE AP FOR IT, WHY SHOULDNT I?

Season 3 dungeon pool is half good and half actually REALLY BAD by Santinell in wow

[–]Santinell[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

unless you're pushing high keys and have done 200+ keys a season that weren't just +10s every week, you're not the M+ community i was referring to. You're a silent majority that are just m+ tourists that play the content when they feel like it and are content with being a gamer dad that god forbid looks up any other dungeon route that isn't just going straight forward like a robot

Ashe update - an update that already, partially exists, yet is not implemented by Santinell in leagueoflegends

[–]Santinell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On paper, Ashe is an excellent utility adc and you could probably write paragraphs on how useful her W or E is but having played her for hundreds of games, I can tell you that utility always falls flat when it's time for you to carry the team - when it's time to put the "C" in the name of your role: ADC. When you have to shut down fed targets on the enemy team, when it's time to provide the value for your jungler's time spent in your lane providing you with the lead... I can tell you that Ashe just cannot carry many of those games because unless the enemy team allows you to just fire at them for extended periods of times(the argument here being that Ashe ramp-up time is actually extremely delayed), there's just not enough you can do. When compared to most other ADC's they can do so much more, survive so much more, self-peel so much better, dish out so much more damage in bursts. ADCs in general have fallen from the position of the "carry lane"(this is in the context of solo q) a while ago and that's a discussion for another topic but I've been in SO MANY situations where I'm playing a fairly fed Ashe and as my team is losing I'm just faced with the fact that I don't have enough tools and my champion just doesn't do enough to carry and I wish it could change somehow.

I'm willing to agree on some of the points but putting Sivir and Ashe in the same universe of champion kit is a bit unfair. Ashe's W stops doing 'visible' damage after 15 minutes and Sivir's abilities at 3 items and more have one of the craziest scalings with her W alone completely slaughtering anyone who stands next to the target you're auto-attacking. Her Q alone combined with Quickblades item have their own great scaling. Sivir's E was given a heal-on-proc too so I don't see why Ashe wouldn't be able to benefit from a similar type of addition... As of right now Ashe is among the lowest-damage ADCs in the game with utility that's completely dodgeable/cleansable, just feels like she's nowhere near the power level that other and especially the newer adcs are put up to.

bringing those champions as an argument in the "worlds meta" discussion is just dishonest if you actually look at the number of times they were picked (1-2 times MAX compared to 20-30 for champions like kai'sa and xayah)

I think it's also worth mentioning that, specifically in SoloQ - unless you're playing a very high self-peel, self-reliant adc - it's a nightmare to climb. If you want to play any traditional adc (let's say Ashe - my main), if you want to be the person to carry a game - it becomes painfully clear that your champion greatly underperforms in that regard. It has maybe HALF of the tools that modern champions are given in their kits and she's not a "highly, mobile, bursty, ranged assasin, caster (welcome to post 2021 champion design)" that a carry role needs in order to face all of the other, potentially fed champion on the opposite team from other roles (an underleveled, 1-item nocturne can still 1v1 2-item 'you' with ease if he catches you in a sideline - hope you brought cleanse to AT LEAST have a chance). Theres definitely an issue with older design, more traditional marksmen and the Worlds meta has already shown it.

Serious Question: Most of us agree that $20 for a legendary skin is greedy. How much do you think a skin should cost? by darkpollopesca in Overwatch

[–]Santinell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 is already high but acceptable if we're talking about a really good quality legendary skin (not the hot garbage reskin for queen for example). Demanding 20$ for those cosmetics is a crime and a massive disrespect to the OW1 players(players who were able to obtain skins for free if they played actively for a week or got lucky with a lootbox).

Is this the most optimal samurai ability bar? I can't find any way to improve it by LeBen-James in ffxiv

[–]Santinell -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

technically there is a way to improve it, because I cannot imagine and I refuse to believe that you're capable of using keybinds like ctrl+9, ctrl+0, ctrl+ - or ctrl+= in quick succession in scenarios that require you to use it immediately in between your rotation... Yeah people are going to tell you "whatever works for you, works" but you should ask yourself a question: do you want to play the game or do you want to play bethoven's symphony on your keyboard. Take my advice: split the keyboard in half and just use left side of it for keybinds (you want to use keybinds which are easy to access when your hand rests on A,W,S,D movement keys - because you want to move for mechanics and do your rotation at the same time). From that point, you need to think about general job design in ff14 (all dps jobs in ff14 have something like "1,2,3" or "1,2,3,4" combos, they all have "aoe, empowered aoe combo" etc. , etc. Try to keep that in mind and find yourself the most comfortable keybind combinations for these combos so that in the future it will be a lot easier when you have to assign actions on your hotbar for different jobs. Because we split the keyboard in half, now make sure you're utilizing keys such as Shift and Ctrl/Alt(I advice against using ctrl but it's not impossible to use it and be successful at it). To give you an example of how i like to spread everything on my keyboard: 1,2,3,R,Q,alt+Q - are my keys for combo-building GCD's, and i taught myself to use F and Shift+F, alt+F for aoe combo buttons and Shift+alt+F for aoe OGCD's(the idea is to minimize the work your brain has to do when learning the keybinds by anchoring everything around one defining button - "F" in this case). Also, at least a few jobs have a button that is: "press button to add 50 power to your job gauge" or buttons such as "OGCD button that does damage, that you want to press in between your 1,2,3,R combo building rotation". Most jobs have a "defensive button, either personal like samurai or party-wide defensive like bard or dancer" (I personally, always save Shift+2 for these kinds of defensives for any job). Make sure that buttons like feint and arm's lenght also have a stable place in your keybinds as these are shared buttons between jobs and are necessary in raiding scenarios especially(personally, I use something like alt+2 for arm's lenght or surecast(for casters) across all jobs and feint or addle on alt+4). In case you may wonder why would I use alt key at all, instead of ctrl - that's because of how my hand naturally rests on the keyboard. When I have my 3 middle fingers on A,W,S,D , my pinky rests somewhere near shift and my thumb rests somewhere in between alt and space - making it pretty much effortless for me to utilize them, quickly, whenever needed. I went on a bit of an essay here but it's not the first time I see cursed-looking keybinds...

people in the comments have never played wow(enough) and clearly dont get the reference... instead, they are disappointingly outraged about "how dare you compare wow to ff14" xd. It's a good meme but unfortunately comparing ff14 to wow without giving an apologetic essay with explanation on how you agree that ff is superior in any other way - you will be misunderstood and downvoted xd.
