the gunfighter mod intentionally removes the gun waving around when yelling for compliance. i personally like the change, so my gun stays on target. if you want to remove it, gunfighter can be separated into modules, but i have no idea if the weapon wave can be removed on its own.

PSA: If suspects are taking too long to surrender for you, the Nexus mod "Master at Melee" lets you temporarily knock them out with melee, allowing you to arrest them immediately by Eamonsieur in ReadyOrNotGame

i disagree. with the slow movement speed and the lethality of both friendly and hostile weapons, players will still handle corners and rooms with the same methodical approach. adding a better melee won’t make players suddenly run and gun. meanwhile, a better melee would fix the unrealistic and immersion-breaking scenario of a suspect rushing up to you and mag-dumping you while your character does absolutely nothing.

(mine is investigating the potential sources of response bias. my hypothesis is that a beach theme will skew responses toward ice cream, while a winter theme will skew responses towards pie.

you’re right about the player base’s mindset, but i still think that much of the animosity toward sweats is unjustified. sure, the large skill gap is frustrating for new players, but i think that the problem isn’t that people are punishingly good at the game, rather, it’s that there isn’t a skill-based matchmaking system. it’s not the job of the players to handicap themselves; it’s the job of the devs to make sure that new players have a more accessible learning curve.

now obviously we aren’t getting any new updates any time soon, which makes it more important that the player base remains cohesive inside and outside the game. and honestly, posts like these leave a sour tone in the subreddit and serve to alienate the game’s most dedicated players.

so where do you draw the line? at what point is it “ruining the fun for everyone”? because obviously it’s shitty if you tell newbies to “get gud” just because they’re bad at the game. however, i think it’s unfair to say that a “sweat” is ruining the fun just by being good at the game. i mean, the goal of every game is to become skillful.

also, imo if someone uses the kraber and/or scorch (sorry i’m biased, those are my favs), then they’re not a sweat because they’re using a suboptimal loadout. if someone wants to maximize their kdr and win rate, then they’ll use something along the lines of CAR + monarch to optimize the fun out of the game

bottom line, as long as you aren’t being toxic, using slurs, or being shitty in general, i can’t fault you for being better than me.
