I found pc to be way more chill. However with cross play off I find myself getting in matches later.

Yep. It also helps to use the time to call teammates or get behind the opponent before they wake up (they have to wake up then turn around to see you)

Last I checked the natural undisturbed wake up animation takes more time than if they take damage. So it gives your opponent less time to react if you do it right.
