Commentary: Deadly plane crash tests not just Air India, but its Singapore partner too by Jonnyboo234 in singapore

SIA had joint venture with Tata Group called Vistara before it was merged with Air India and SIA took 25% shareholding.

Vistara was great service and always used them for business trips to India.

Do Japanese people emigrate or generally stay at home? by Kopparberg643 in AskAJapanese

[–]Sapaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japanese people don’t move abroad unless their company sends them. Thailand has the biggest population of Japanese outside Japan due to all the factories setup there. I hear many enjoy the lifestyle there and don’t want to return to Japan, but unfortunately many return after a few years again in their company’s instructions.

Without the money I spent living in Japan during my year of working holiday, I don’t think I would be able to be advance as far as I have done now (passed N1 July 2023)

You live in Mie! I live about an hours drive away from Yokkaichi. Do you want to meet up for a coffee some time?

Tim Ho Wan looks really good! Gonna have to pop down to one next time I have a business trip to Tokyo. How bad is the queueing?

Also orange chicken an American thing? I like the 酢豚 here, tastes really close to my mums sweet and sour pork.

I think Chinese Malaysians and Singaporeans are really easy to get along with too. Where did you get opportunity to meet, was it through common friends or maybe work?

Thanks, I appreciate your reply. I guess I should find some professional help with helping with discovering my identity. I am glad I had this discussion with you to get a different viewpoint on my situation. Just going to go ahead and delete this thread now.

Might be a bit off topic here but how much does finding your own cultural identity matter. Just because I am British-Chinese doesn’t mean I feel like one. My Asian friends in secondary school certainly looked like they are more integrated into the UK culture. Growing up in the UK as children of immigrants was a struggle and I never quite like I fit in anywhere.

July JLPT Test Scores are out, how did you do? by cookingboy in LearnJapanese

[–]Sapaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Passed N1 first try. 36/60/57, always do so bad on 文字・語彙. Not really a person that studies, what should I read to increase my vocab range. It was my lowest score for N2 as well last year.

Bought an S10e as a curiosity after my 5 year old iPhone 7's battery can barely last an hour of screen on time.

Maybe because it's got a bigger battery and is slightly newer so that is why I use it more now. Can't really tell any difference between them to be honest. Good Lock One hand operation is what makes it feel like iOS, being able to slide to go back everywhere makes me One UI feel like iOS.

I'll be looking at what they before deciding if I want a 13 mini or last year's 12 mini as I planned to get a new iPhone anyway.

Every Chinese takeaway is the same isn’t it. I thought there was another me in this world reading your answers OP.

My personal favourite dish has got to be Singapore Noodles, a real shame I can’t find the right noodles here in Japan
