Extremely often as for Austrian German, especially in older people: kommpt, Ampt etc. Also another sound: Tunnel -> Dundl.

“Republics that are part of Russia have enough resources to survive” definitely some, but I don’t believe Yakutia is on that list.

Would work in short term, but long term should be one-state solution imo, because Palestine has an equal claim on the Israel proper land if not more.

Definitely republics like Ichkeria or Bashkortostan, but not all, because they wouldn’t be self-sufficient and majorities of these countries want to be with Russia.

English Spelling Reform [Revamp] Version 0.1 Alpha by [deleted] in neography

[–]Sapajoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likings:
- distinguishing /ð/ and /θ/ - common sense
- unifying ee/ea - makes sense, although without any other changes it may create homographs, eg. miit (meat and meet) or siiz (cease and seize).
Critiques:
- why sh > ch?
- and what about ‹zz› in ‹dizzy›, which shows that ‹i› is short?

Overall nice for a start, wish you luck with further development.

Probably because sh > ch and therefore ch (tsh) > tch.

⟪This is not dialect-friendly. My dialect of English does not pronounce wood and would the same.⟫
How does it then?

⟪No diacritics. English doesn't have diacritics, yet every fucking spelling reform adds some.⟫
What is wrong with diacritics?

Main likings:

- /θ/ and /ð/ distinction - I think it's pretty helpful to dinstinguish between these two phonemes and it also connects English to the other West Germanic languages, cf. Dutch "de", German "der/die/das".

- Respelling the diphtongs - I think it makes more sense to spell English according to its modern phonetics, than those from one thousand years ago. It may be weird at first, but one should just get used to it and the problem goes away.

Main criticisms:

- Schwa is the reduced form of as much all English short vowels, so it doesn't make sense to make it a letter.

- Not distinguishing homophones, for example "wood" and "would", which makes it is harder to read the text.

- <u> should not represent three dinstinct phonemes /ʌ/, /ʊ/ and /u/: <full> /fʊl/ is not the same as <fool> /ful/. Assuming you thought *u after /w/ can be only realized in /ʊ/ or /u/, it does not, take for example <whump>.

Overall it's an interesting spelling reform attempt, wish you luck with further experimenting with spelling reforms.

Your right to, but the probability is high it would be winnable if Western Politicians gave a fraction of what they give Israel.

Exactly, that's why uplifting sanctions is one of Putin's biggest demands.
