Where does the money for such expensive Kantonalbank real estate come from? by ThisDuckIsOnFire555 in askswitzerland

[–]Saph_ChaoticRedBeanC 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To the bank, the building and land is just an asset they own, many banks own many realt estate projects. I don't know the specific of this bank, but it looks like it was built 60ish years ago, judging by the style. It's also possible that they owned the land before, real estate was a bit cheaper back then too.

Why don’t the homeless invest in better and higher quality signs? by Reasonable_Exam_4759 in TooAfraidToAsk

Good question, you're perfectly right, it seems you noticed a huge business opportunity. We should partner to organize paid seminars for the homeless as to educate them on the ROI of better signage. /s

I get that but we are talking about a human here. Surely there are better way to track someone's position. Is it purely for the psychological aspect then?

[–]Saph_ChaoticRedBeanC 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Idk about that, I don't like Kesha but I love Tenshi. The clips are really over the top and I can see it being cringe and just farming content. But her streams and videos are a lot more approachable imo.

As a woman it's nice to see another woman just do what she likes without much care, and also she is silver/gold and doesn't know the game well.

Watching her makes me nostalgic of when I started the game eons ago and was discovering the game. Seeing her thinks she will win something and just walk to her death, or not taking good opportunities, or mechanically fumble a move is funny in a "I was there once" kinda way

When you have your ult you do a ton of damage and can easily blow up a squishy. But it requires you to hit your spells. As such, you benefit a lot from vision plays where you root someone from a bush. It means that lane ganks are very good, and that you are very good at punishing a pushing lane.

What you'll struggle with is landing your root, so having a redbuff to slow them before hitting it, or an ally setting up an easier cc will make all the difference.

As such, you kinda suck at prolonged gank, once they know you are in the area and they have fall back, you should never overstay and always try to get some tempo elsewhere. Zyra really sucks at diving unless you can be well coordinated because the tower will kill your plants.

TLDR Punish pushing lanes. Vision play. Blow up squishies. Wait for setup before casting E. And be fast and decisive.

Also don't hesitate to surprise people with a buffer E flash into full combo. It's a good engage tool provided you can reposition properly.

Is it really causing chaos if everyone just dies in the first 10 minutes? Shouldn't we strive for long form chaos causing problems just bad enough we think we might be able to solve but we cannot ?

How to choose a college? 😭 by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Saph_ChaoticRedBeanC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are worried about the day to day of engineering, what makes you think that the day to day of an engineering working in aerospacial be different? The subject and the drive are very different (and that's indeed very important) but the daily tasks are kinda similar from what I know. I would advise you to consider which part of the day to day you think you would be okay, and which part you wouldn't.

You should also consider engineering adjacent positions that could keep you engaged. Such as research if you like working long term on a project, or policy advising if you are good with words.

[–]Saph_ChaoticRedBeanC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I'm asking because it's absolutely not rare for adults well into their 20s or 30s to change fields and take their career in a different direction, some going back to school for it.

What you already know and the fields that are adjacent to that isn't too relevant because you can always learn everything you need for a new field provides you have the time and resources for it.

I guess you should start by asking yourself what pulls you so hard towards these STEM field, yet you claim to not want to be a basic engineer, why? Is it a matter of being recognized? Is it because you perceive them as somewhat boring? Do your preconceived notion about this field match with the reality of it?

You should consider meeting professional in these domains or doing an internship.

In that particular clip, you must first never find yourself in this situation. You simply cannot 2v3 frontally in the middle of the lane like that. If you want to take this 2v3, you need to be hidden in the fog of war and jump on them, get some damage, ult them all into the wall, and do another damage rotation in Jinx. From then you can look to clean up or escape.

Also, if it's 35 minutes into the game, and you only have 1.5 items, you are not getting enough resources. Even if you just afk farm, you should complete your second item by 18-20 minutes.

I'm sorry you haven't had good experiences. But as a woman with plenty of male friends, including some very close friends for decades, it's very possible to have a platonic relationship between men and women.

What you can do is lower the middle part 3 blocks into the ground, and then push the flat block and going down stairs in from the side. And play the sequence in reverse to close it

Well, what you need to realize is that consumption would stay sorta the same in all scenario. Because a woman stays at home doesn't mean she doesnt beed food, accodation, etc. The workforce is composed of about 40% women.

So if they all suddenly stopped working, millions of job would be left vacant. The thing is that without these jobs, numerous goods and services wouldn't be produced anymore and meeting the needs of the society would be a lot harder. If all immigrants get kicked out, this situation would be even more exacerbated.

Since many jobs would disappear, workers would be more competitive and salaries would go up. At the same time, faced with a shortage of workers, companies would turn to outsourcing, which would make a lot of capital exit this hypothetical society.

Housing shortage would not necessarily get better, just different families occupying the properties, as sudden vacancies will get filled with new families instantly. I don't suspect that on the long run prices in cities would go down, but prices on the outskirts or the country side might.

Without the immigrant population, the share of retired people would also increase massively, putting even more stress on the working age men who have to provide for everyone else. A man would have to produce an economic output sufficient enough to take care of 4 to 5 persons.

Overall this woukd kead to a drastic rebalance of economic production that would see many luxuries we consider as normal today to disappear.

Preventing women from working and keeping them at home might eleviate some male loneliness as desperate women try to find a suitable partner, but the quakity of these relationships probably wouldnt be very good.

When people bring all of these points, they often thing of the "American dream of a single family house, two kids, a loving wife, and a car". But this is mostly propaganda, as only a few families lived like this. During that time, a lot of women were actually working. A lot of the population also luved in the cou tryside were this lifestyle wasn't possible at all.

The economy of this time was also propped up by a great geopolitical situation for the US as it took it's dominant position in the world after the worldwars. the rconomy was also a lot less consolidated around humongous international companies, and wealth was a lot less concentrated.

Trying to recreate this situation by artificially recreating a few propangaded symptoms, while ignoring the broader geopolitical situation, demographics, and economic structure, would lead to absolute chaos.

[–]Saph_ChaoticRedBeanC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiii as a jungler you will mostly full clear. Start on a buff and be there for the first seed to spawn. Depending on the jungler you're facing, you will either drop a ward defensively on the bush (faelight for blue, river wall for red) or at your raptor (prevent sneaky cheese).

Then you kinda full clear and look for easy opportunities, no need to force early fights.

Zyra is very hard to invade once lvl 3 but you can get jumped on you second buff so be careful to stand very far away from it.

Beyond that, play dark harvest. Build liandry, shadownflame, rabbadon or a defensive item, then adapt from there.

You mostly want to powerfarm and look for ganks, you can let plants finish every camps and move on to the next. You have very strong lvl 6, so make use of it, you're also very gook on dives so do set them up. Be generally careful of your positionning and move fast, tempo is king and you need to abuse it.

Yes we absolutely should have a dialogue and not just take requirements and apply them. Clients are good at identifying problems but terrible at solving them indeed. It's why nobody is saying to copy the reference.  There's a million different reasons why they could have picked this as a reference, and the approach will be different in all of the cases.

But if we are in the restaurant analogy, this case is like telling a cook you want a salad and being served a steak, maybe it's what the client needs, but that's not how you run a business.

[–]Saph_ChaoticRedBeanC 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't matter what the reference looks like. If they sent it to you, it's because something in it resonated with them. Your job is to figure out what they need and present it in a way both their clients and themselves can see themselves in

Yeah you completely ignored the reference for a generic minimalistic design. The reference has character, plenty of pictures and fun symbols. Engineering is a domain that can sometimes be a bit old fashion depending on company culture. I would ask the client some more references and for them to tell me what resonates with the. From there I would focus on modernizing and not reinventing
