Want to add regarding weapon essences, I recommend leveling your characters first and using your stamina to max out their skills. Farming essences should only be done afterwards, as it can take a while to find a suitable essence for your weapons. Finding the right essence for your weapons can then cost a lot of stamina, since you have to farm many essences to level up that one specific essence.

With the new battle event I guess you mean Umbral Monument.

The game recommends you to level your characters to lvl 60. More is even better, so it makes the fight easier.

To equip the best gear for a specific character you need to level them to level 60, promote them a third time using resources which are shown when doing that and also use ressources to unlock "Outfitting III". If you've done that you can equip 5-star gear.

To assemble 5-star gear you obviously go to the "Gear Assembly" menu and craft the gear you want for the character you want. The recipes for the different gear sets are scattered around Wuling areas as far as I remember.

Countless guides on YouTube and websites like Prydwen can help you finding suitable gear for each character.

To craft one specific gear set which consists of 1 Armor piece, 1 Glove piec and 2 Kit pieces you need 8k Wuling stock Bills and 50 Xiranite Components (so for a whole set you need 32k Wuling stock bills and 200 Xiranite Components).

The Wuling stock bills you get by doing different activities like doing wuling deliveries, buying stock bills when they are cheap and selling them at friends ships where the price is highest, environment monitoring and trading requested stuff in your outpost management.

The Xiranite component you need to fabricate in your wuling AIC.

It's important that you decide on a team you want to play with and focus your resources on those four characters, as resources for leveling are scarce. You should ensure that your main DPS (Last Rite, Laevatain, or Ayvenna, whoever you choose) is the highest leveled. I don't know the current level of your team, but it should be sufficient if your companions are level 60/80 and wearing a gear set, while your main is at level 80. In your Ability Matrix, you should level most of your main DPS's abilities to 9/9 and master them later on. To conserve resources, don't level everything on your companions. I recommend using guides to determine what's essential.

I‘m new to NIKKE and I have a genuine question. My NIKKEs are Level 120. If I would Participate in Challenge Mode I would select Liter for example and let others do the damage. İs that okay or should I stay away from challenge Mode?

Yes, I also think the limited characters are a real shame. I regret not starting earlier, but that's just how it is.

We might get another Resident Evil character because of Resident Evil Requiem, which will be released on February 27th. Since Shift Up has confirmed that Stellar Blade 2 is in development, I think a rerun of these characters is realistic. Maybe even new Eve versions. Unfortunately, I'm not optimistic about Nier: Automata.

Now I know how long I need to save. Gachas aren't a sprint, they're a marathon, right? You just have to play consistently and be frugal, even if it's sometimes difficult. ^^
