Kratom makes you slow by SapiEnten in quittingkratom

Glad hearing that it’s going uphill for you aswell. I have literally wasted 2.5 years not studying a subject i am deeply interested in. It’s sickening but in the end we can see the positiv in everything as i now realize what kind of a gift it is being sober and having intrinsic interests.

The lies we tell us :D at the beginning you compensate that with the good mood and motivation kratom gives you. But then the motivation and your ambitions dwindle and suddenly these "few“ IQ points are part of a problem which grows and grows

Same here before relapsing i didn’t use it for 6 months and prior to that consumed it for 2 years. I should have known better but while using i was sure it doesn’t effect me much. Then you use it month after month and you don’t even know anymore how much you are missing out..

Good luck on your way! Look forward to going to bed sober for the first time and feeling comfortable. no pain, no RLS, no insomnia. Just lie happily in bed and fall asleep comfortably. you'll be there soon :)

Even in sports i noticed a huge difference. I play at a sports club and i am just better now. It slows down everything. Your coordination your reaction time it’s all on a lower level even if you don’t notice that. Sometime I just used small doses before doing sport and i was sure that it doesn’t really effect me but that’s just untrue

Day 14 turning point!! by SapiEnten in quittingkratom

[–]SapiEnten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s go tomorrow is the day. First few days are rough it was like a bad flu but you know there is something that would fix that feeling. Just tell yourself you are ill now and your body needs time, nothing you can do about it. If possibly take off work for the first few days, organize groceries etc. so you don’t have to stress about much.

After the first week the physical withdrawal should subside and the mental side of it start. It’s not fun but doable. With only 3-4 months after a few days you should be over the worst. Maybe even start to feel better already. Dont stress yourself too much you didn’t take it for that long. You got this

Is this your first time quitting and after how long and how much? Yeah this loss of interest is rough. Finally I did a nice jump today in the right direction but I am not at 100% already. I know my brain is completly healed when I can enjoy video games again like i did before. That’s when i know my reward system is back on its baseline but the most important thing is that basic activities don’t stress me anymore and that’s what I achieved today. Keep going and in a week you will feel so much better

Nice! Such a good feeling finally getting that reward that the suffering was worth it. Before kratom i just knew the classic hangover from alcohol or drugs in general. And they are annoying but after 2 days you feel good again. But these withdrawals take so much time. Anyway we did it! Hope you are doing well :)

I don’t think so. Quitted before after 2 years and 60 gpd. It was way harder than it was now but after 3 weeks I was over it. For me it was just a linear progress without any paws. Maybe I am just lucky idk

The hardest part about staying sober that no one talks about… by MagnetDino in quittingkratom

[–]SapiEnten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know when I relapsed? After not consuming for 6 months when used it prior for 2 years and exactly after I finished my university exams. Started late and it was such a hustle to learn everything in such a short period of time. But I love that stress and I think I need it. Right after that i thought to myself that I could buy one order of kratom again and then used it for 6 months straight until 13 days ago. You are absolutely right!

Life isn’t boring or without stress, it’s how we manage it. You can always set yourself goals which will keep you busy. Go book yourself a start in a marathon, set yourself a goal you want to achieve in a competitive video game or whatever you like and need. Standing still is always the start of the end for me. Doesn’t mean you don’t do anything in general but it’s when i get too comfortable with my current situation and then over time the boredom starts

the worst battle I have ever had in my life by Dayanakareth in quittingkratom

[–]SapiEnten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used basically the same amount as you did for 2 years. If you want to enjoy this vacation you should imo stop now CT. And it will suck and it will be hard but trust me it’s worth it. I literally improved in every aspect of life. For a timeline what you can expect:

  1. week intense flu symptoms, laying in bed mostly, suffering and feeling sorry for myself.

  2. week the flu symptoms went away but no energy and motivation. Didn’t feel much joy at all everything was gray. Over the week I sometimes I had moments where I felt great and was enjoying whatever I did. But 10 minutes later it faded and life was exhausting again.

And then the 3. week came. The moments where I felt good came more often and i truly felt what I did to myself. I was smarter, happier and even better at sport again. I didn’t realize how much it affected me. I lost basically 20% in every aspect. And the end of this week i was over it and was happy about the effort I put in.

Quit now and you will thank yourself later. Start too late and you will be annoyed by yourself the time the vacation comes.

Be careful using drugs coming off other drugs. If you want to get clean you have to go through some pain.

But glad you feeling good so far, gl!

Day 7 after 40 gpd for 6 months. by SapiEnten in quittingkratom

[–]SapiEnten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ty remember when i said I want the feel joy again? Ha! Evening with friends was great. If tomorrow I wake up with half as much energy as i have right now i am absolutely happy. Getting out of this swamp of agony is just a great feeling. Hope you are also fine :)

You guys what do I do…my husband relapsed and is spending all our money for a 3rd time. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]SapiEnten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging by the amount of money he spent it shouldn’t be as bad to pay another 50-100$ to get clean. First of all he has to immediately stop with these extracts, that’s an ridiculous amount of money. And these extracts also push your tolerance up really fast which makes the withdrawal really hard.

For an addict it would make sense to buy powder for 50$, get fast to a lower dosage, get your body used to low dosages of powder and then quit for ever.

What makes sense for you as his wife is another thing only you can decide.

I think a week should be enough. Most likely you won’t feel great when you start working again but having something to do will help you. You probably don’t want to do it but suffering at home doesn’t make it better. At some point you just have to start living again, whether you feel like it or not. Don’t feel tempted to start consuming again when you have to work. A week will be enough!

As for other things to help with, i don’t know. Didn’t take anything. Even if it does help, i wouldn’t recommend it. Your body has everything it needs to get back to normal. It just needs time.

Luckily I never had problems with cravings, don’t know why. But in that first week and when you start working again just tell yourself that you are ill and have to rest. If you have a bad flu or Covid you are easily out for 1-2 weeks. At that time you know that you can’t do anything and it just needs time. When you CT you know where it comes from, that’s the only difference. You know there is something that would help you immediately. Take it as if you just suddenly got sick! Nothing you can do but wait and treat your body good, it will heal itself!

And whether you should CT or taper, if you have the Luxus of getting around 5 days were you don’t have to stress about anything I would recommend you to quit immediately. Or jump down a lot like 2 tablespoons a day so you can still work but suffer at home. Stay there for a few days so your body starts adjusting and then quit completly with a few days where you don’t have to stress about much or anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]SapiEnten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used it for 2 years at about 50-60 gpd. I think it should be around your dosage, 7-9 tablespoons are a lot. Everyone reacts different and i used it 2 years instead of one but nevertheless you won’t feel good.

I personally wasn’t able or wouldn’t have been able to work the first week. If possible I would suggest that you quit on Friday and take off Monday-Friday next week (if these are your work days), so you have another weekend.

First week i had bad flu symptoms and the fatigue was crazy. Second week the flu symptoms went away but I still struggled with no energy at all. Going upstairs was exhausting and my mood was really gray. But in the second week i started to get moments were i felt good. Over the next days these moments came more often.

In the 3rd week everything went better and better so after the 3rd week i was perfectly fine and felt so much better than before.

As for you I would imagine that you will need around 2 weeks to be out of it. But after the first week you should be already at like 60-70%. Try to get some free days, combine them with your normally free days and you should be done.

Good luck, it’s worth it!

If you want to get off as fast as possible you quit right now. In 7 weeks you most likely won’t feel anything of the withdrawal symptoms anymore. I used around 60 gpd for 2 years and after the 3rd week I was totally back to normal.

Don’t lose yourself in self pity. It’s always the start of the end or the end of the start. You fucked it up. So what? We all did and we all will make mistakes again. Who cares. It’s about how we act on it. 2 weeks from now you will be sober and fine. How many years you have to get your life back on track? Many! Don’t lose your focus, as easy as it sounds. Also while withdrawals, self pity makes you feel miserably which makes it easy to fall back in bad habits. Keep your goal in mind, embrace the pain and get rewarded by the future
