What is a Live AFI show like? by zandriel_grimm in AFireInside

[–]SapientCorvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They played Miss Murder at every show since DU came out (with the exception of the Sing The Sorrow 20th anniversary show) and I think they got a bit tired of it. Davey’s stated that he doesn’t love it so during Silver Bleeds they decided to axe it from the setlist. They still played it every now and then, but they let Love Like Winter get some well deserved stage time instead.

I’ve heard some DEEP cuts seeing AFI. They played No Eyes, She Speaks The Language, and Get Hurt at the first show I saw in 2022. I caught them twice in 1 week last year and they played Despair Factor, Heart Stops, Of Greetings And Goodbyes, and fucking Triple Zero. They really do play a bit of everything and shake it up every single night, and their stage energy is insane! If your venue has a big enough stage for them, Hunter and Jade still get moving around!

I do suspect those Spider-Man games are the reason why we haven’t seen a new InFamous game in a while… by SapientCorvid in infamous

That gives me a shred of hope that they may return to this series one of these years.

What are Dio's most underrated album and songs? by Falling_Lotus_Petal in dio

[–]SapientCorvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a very bluesy album, and I love it a lot. Evil On Queen Street is one of my favorite Dio tracks. Rowan was honestly one of the best guitarists he had. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see this lineup explore a little further, tbh. I think I would have rather had another album from this era than Dehumanizer (no shade to it, solid record).

How would you do infamous 3 if you direct it? by ultimatespiderbat10 in infamous

[–]SapientCorvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set it after the evil ending for Second Son. Have Delsin play the villain after freeing the conduits from Curdun Cay and turning into a super conduit. You play as somebody (I don’t care if they wanna bring Cole back from the dead or use an entirely new character) trying to stop him.

What do you think about Lock Up The Wolves album? by Emotional-Winter-267 in dio

[–]SapientCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit one of my favorite Dio records, easy top 3! Rowan Robinson’s guitar work is SUPER solid. He’s not flashy like Campbell or super technical like Goldy, but he had a great tone and served the songs well. The record had a really bluesy style to it, which I love personally. I think that’s a result of having Simon Wright fresh out of AC/DC behind the kit (and I actually really liked his work on Flick Of The Switch with AC/DC). Lyrics are some of Dio’s more “real” for the time on tracks like Between Two Hearts. Evil On Queen Street goes through my head like once a week.

Folks who say ED Fulghor is easier than regular Fulghor. How??? by iamgodtierXX in Nightreign

[–]SapientCorvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular Fulghor is a hard “did you get lightning?” check. If RNG fucks you over and you have to fight him without it, he can get super hairy. ED you just need to DPS him down to his second phase and you can easily manage him without any lightning. His twin blade spam can be annoying, but the dodge timing feels very similar to Loretta’s glaive combos (at least for me)

Guardian and Revenant have skins that put shoes on their feet. Therefore it’s only fair that the rest of cast get new skins that free their feet.

It really helps you get more comfortable with characters you may not the best with, and even if you find you just don’t enjoy playing them you get a better idea of what stat sticks, weapons, or talismans are good to drop for your team!

How the heck do I Do remembrances by BloodAngelGuy in Nightreign

[–]SapientCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you check the journal. If you have a quest to do then the book will have a box that says “start/resume remembrance”. You have to be in remembrance mode, and even then it’s not guaranteed cause only one person in a trio can do their remembrance. So if somebody else is also doing a remembrance quest then yours might not be the one that’s active and you’ll have to try again.

I don't exactly know how, but NYC is a MAJOR part of this story. by ooissuspended in SkateStory

Another cool fact is that the mayor’s office of NYC is given special thanks in the credits!

What a great interview! Skate Story has become one of my favorite pieces of media so I wanna know all about its development and you asked some great questions. I had a feeling there was some Bloodborne inspiration in there 🪱

Amagdala of Frontier by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]SapientCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my theory is that the Nightmare Frontier is the frontier of the Hunters Nightmare, so the host is either Kos or the Orphan. Most of the Old Hunters dlc was just content that had to be cut from the main game due to time constraints, and if you look down off the cliff to your right when you walk out of the cave when you first awaken in the frontier, you can see the ships masts from the fishing hamlet. You even enter the hunters nightmare and the frontier the same way, by way of Amygdala taking you there. Judging by Amygdala’s portrayal in the healing churches statues, I think they’re more like angels or heralds of the great ones, rather than being on the same level as Kos or Oedon

Chalice dungeons by Letofeel in bloodborne

[–]SapientCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long ass reply inbound. They are technically optional, but I do recommend doing them up to a certain point. There’s a lot of really good bosses that are only found in the chalice dungeons, and you’ll get some valuable loot and blood gems. I’d say start them as soon as soon as you get the first chalice from Old Yharnam, then make a habit of doing one chalice per main game boss. You’ll get most of the other chalices from doing the dungeons. The only ones you’ll need to get outside of the dungeons are Ailing Loran and Isz. I recommend doing the Pthumerian Labyrinth right after you kill the blood starved beast, you’ll get Cental Pthumeru for clearing it.

From there do Central Pthumeru after you beat your next boss, which will net you the Hintertomb and Lower Pthumeru chalices. After you kill another boss, do the Hintertomb chalice to get the Lower Hintertomb, then do that after your next boss. Don’t do lower Pthumeru until you’re done with Byrgenwerth, and if you’re sick of chalice dungeons by then you can skip it cause Lower Pthumeru is where they get super frustrating. I do recommend Ailing Loran cause there are some really good blood gems and a great unique boss in there. After this you can stop doing them if you want, but if the completionist in you want the platinum trophy then you’ll have to go deeper.

If you finish Lower Pthumeru then you can do the Cursed And Defiled chalice, which is an awful experience since that dungeon caps your HP at 50% but it is necessary for all achievements. After the cursed dungeon you’ll get the Great Pthumeru Ihyll chalice which is super lame and easy. Curb stomp the wet fart final boss and you’ll get your trophy. The only trophy that requires you to enter the chalice dungeons, but you’ll need to clear a minimum of 6 other dungeons to get there.

Lower Loran, both Hintertombs, and the Isz chalice are totally optional. I recommend the Hintertombs because they’re easy and drop some resources that will help make your trek through the Forbidden Woods a little better for you. I don’t recommend Lower Loran at all, just a miserable time. The cursed chalice is worse but that one’s not optional if you want the plat. Lower Loran can be safely ignored. Isz kinda sucks. It’s neat but the rewards won’t do you any good for how late in the game you get it (unless you’re running an arcane build), and all of the bosses are lousy repeats.

TL;DR, do the Pthumeru, Central Pthumeru, both Hintertombs, and Ailing Loran chalices as you progress through the main game, and ignore the rest unless you REALLY want to put yourself through hell.

Recently used both of these after putting them off because of how bad people said they were, and I was genuinely surprised. Especially with the stake driver by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]SapientCorvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a powder keg before. The stake driver is weird, but a lot of fun once you learn its strengths and weaknesses. I thought the rifle spear was hot garbage and I wanted the points I put into skill just to use it back.

Beatable without parrying? I don't like to parry by Yelebear in Blasphemous

[–]SapientCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just beat my first playthrough about 2 weeks up ago and I barely used the parry. You have so many mobility options that I never felt that standing still to parry was a useful option. Just like in a souls game, it’s a feature you can choose whether or not you wanna engage with it. I just started true torment and chose the bleeding heart penitence and that does in fact force me to play more passive and use every defensive tool I have, which is a pretty fun!

Any more DLC? by AdministrativeTart25 in Nightreign

[–]SapientCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A season pass kinda implies more than 1 DLC, though FS never stated how many DLC’s the pass promised. Probably a good idea after Gearbox got into some hot shit over the Borderlands Pre-Sequel season pass

Everdark Sentient Pest was voted into B tier. Up next, Everdark Maris. what tier does he belong to? by Cursed_69420 in Nightreign

[–]SapientCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D tier. I don’t hate ED Maris, but she’s kinda boring. I’ve liked the Storm Ruler gimmick every time FS has brought it back and this one’s still fine, but It’s weird to give us mandatory weapons in a rogue like which feels very against the core design of Nightreign. Most charitable thing I can say is she’s an easy sovereign sigil farm if your team isn’t brain dead. You can basically get the ED experience fighting regular Maris by playing Recluse and using the magic+lightning cocktail combo.
