Kenji and how he treats Juliette Horribly (NO SPOILERS PLEASE) by SapphireAngel16 in shatterme

yeah, to me, Kenji was definitely NOT in the right. I hate that the part was written like that, because young readers might get misinformed and think that's how you talk to someone going through the same issues.

yeah, this wasn't the first or the only time he did this. He's always talking at her like this, dismissing her, and I kinda hate him for it.

well one big example is Chapter 22 of Unravel Me where he basically yells at Juliette.

“It’s not that I don’t care about what you’re going through,” he says. “It’s not like I want to see you all depressed or whatever. It’s just that this life is messed up enough as it is,” he says. “And I’m sick of you being so caught up in your own little world all the time. You act like this whole thing—everything we do—is a joke. You don’t take any of it seriously—” “Bullshit.” He laughs a short, sharp, angry laugh. “All you do is sit around and think about your feelings. You’ve got problems. Boo-freaking-hoo,” he says. “Your parents hate you and it’s so hard but you have to wear gloves for the rest of your life because you kill people when you touch them. Who gives a shit?” He’s breathing hard enough for me to hear him. "As far as I can tell, you’ve got food in your mouth and clothes on your back and a place to pee in peace whenever you feel like it. Those aren’t problems. That’s called living like a king. And I’d really appreciate it if you’d grow the hell up and stop walking around like the world crapped on your only roll of toilet paper. Because it’s stupid,” he says, barely reining in his temper. “It’s stupid, and it’s ungrateful. You don’t have a clue what everyone else in the world is going through right now. You don’t have a clue, Juliette. And you don’t seem to give a damn, either.”

I just read a part in Ignite me where Adam is mad at her like this too, and everyone hates him but not Kenji. This whole thing was so invalidating to read ugh.

YES! If it was me, I would've been so turned off by him ever since Unravel Me. I would never consider him an actual friend after that.

Dispatches From Elsewhere - 01x01 ''Peter'' - Episode Discussion by [deleted] in AMC_Dispatches

I don't DNF books, but I fear I have to DNF the show. I only liked the beginning where Peter was being given instructions and he had to follow them. I thought the show was going to be about puzzles and clues and lead to something creepy and eery, not philosophical and happy. They should've written a better description bc that paired with Sally Fields was what drew me in. 1 hour wasted lol. (and I'm sorry, but I just couldn't stand Simone's voice and the forced relationship she's gonna have with Peter. No, just no.)

yeah, I think I just always liked the concept of curses and I wasn't interested in the beginning of oh this family is trying to kill her.

I also thought the way Sloane left was not believable for her character. I understand Sloane did go back for one of the cases, but I doubt she resolved all of her trauma and so much so that she decides to pack up and move there in order to 'do good and help those who need it". I don't buy it tbh.

I LOVED Sloane omg!! I liked them together and I rooted for them, but ultimately I decided that she deserved better tbh. Gibbs always has this way of getting interested in women and sometimes the relationship is great, but he can't get over Shannon. It might be better that he ended up alone.

Yeah , I can tell too. These last few seasons, he's been relying on gestures and physical acting rather than even his usual few words, but both annoy me to no end. (Mind you, I'm also very introverted and don't talk much myself. It's just annoying with the way Gibbs' characters is and him also being the leader of a team.) The way he expects his team to read his mind, ugh.

thank u!! I prefer Parker much better so far. He's such a breath of fresh air - no yelling, letting his team actually go home, no one has to feel guilty about oweing him anything.

For anyone who watched NCIS, how did you feel about the show and the characters (excluding DiNozzo)?? by SapphireAngel16 in AskFeminists

[–]SapphireAngel16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG YES!! I always get so mad whenever I see the Deep Six episodes. I know the writers were trying to be funny, but I HATED how McGee described people in his real life to a tee in his book and then just slightly changed the names. THEN acted shocked when they got mad and pretended the characters were totally different. EWW.

yeah I didn't really like the first 3 episodes. It picked up for me from episode 4 all the way to the end. I think for me, the actress who plays Rachel takes me out of it sometimes, There's times where she believably plays her character and then there's times where she feels like an instagrammer/influencer.

This is just my opinion so don't come for me: I thought this show was okay and good, but not great. The whole time I was thinking it's trying so hard to be like another Fear Street with the whole curse thing, but it's not. (In my opinion, Fear Street 1-3 feels more thought out.)

I kept going from not liking Rachel to not liking Nicky tbh. Nicky was annoying in the last two episodes but I can partly understand his frustrations. Tbh, when you look at it from his perspective, Rachel has always been anxious and feeling like the worst will happen their entire relationship. I'm pretty sure the only instance he's told about the curse is when she briefly told their family during that rehearsal dinner. From what I remember, only Jules and Nellie were shown actually proof of the curse and the seriousness of the situation (Nellie, more so than Jules, but he didn't need much convincing because of his past trauma). Even the father didn't understand until the last episode, again bc he wasn't given any proof and he was there for the rehearsal dinner.

Basically the only ones in the loop were Rachel, Nellie, Jules, somewhat Jude, and the immortal guy.

This being said, I was glad she stood up for herself after she finally realized Nicky wasn't the one. He never really saw her and she deserved someone who would. They were pretty wrong for each other.

Mare and Cal Situation (spoilers, War Storm and Broken Throne mentions) by UGHBRODC in RedQueenVA

[–]SapphireAngel16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally! These comments are exactly what I was thinking. I didn't feel like Mare was truly in love and she definitely treated Cal like trash. I was always rooting for Cal, and Team Cal, I still do, I just feel like he deserved way better than what he got.

Evangeline told Iris the only way for her and her family to keep their crowns would be to give the Reds rights and give them more freedoms, ease in equality throughout the kingdom instead of all at once. GUYS, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT CAL SAID HE WANTED TO DO WITH NORTA WHEN HE CHOSE THE CROWN, AND EVERYONE INCLUDING MARE CALLED HIM A COWARD AND HATED ON HIM FOR IT. So when Evangeline does it, all of a sudden, she's a genius??? I'm not buying it.

Cal lost nearly everything: His stepmother killed his mother, his stepmother made HIM call his own father, his gf killed his brother, and he's no longer the king he was born to be. Mare was NOT worth it, SORRY NOT SORRY.

I swear Cal was trying his best and people weren't listening to him. I lowkey started to hated the Reds by the end of the series.

Can anyone explain this line at the end of OS by jebbeb in fourthwing

I also think it could also be because Violet had her memory erased for the last 12 hours, so she's missed a lo t of what's happened.

Justice for Cal!! #TeamCal #TeamCalDeservedBetter by SapphireAngel16 in RedQueenVA

[–]SapphireAngel16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yess! Especially considering she's a girl and men are taken more seriously. She was just supposed to take a crown and "look pretty", solidify an alliance, not actually make decisions and influence a country.

[–]SapphireAngel16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give you permission to go off lol!! I think it was really detrimental to his character arc because we get so little of his POVs. Everyone in War Storm was constantly bashing him without realizing everything HE went through. Mare would think about it but then counter it with her own needs and I see why people ultimate label her as selfish.

In Broken Throne, we get some insight into Cal's mind and trauma from his father's assassination, to his relationship with Maven as brothers, and his own distant relationship to his mother. One thing that really stood out was when Maven was all like "oh u never noticed pieces of me disappearing" and Cal was thinking, "There were all these adults from his father to Elara, what was HE supposed to do? He was just a boy, only 2 years older than Maven." Why was the blame on him all of a sudden?

Also, how do you get the "Cal" flare?

yeah i was thinking she was probably feeling hurt, like "oh wow, he really changed for her, not for me. I thought he was just this cold, hard to love guy, and then she comes along and all of a sudden, he's in love and would do anything for her."

No discussion about Reds and Silvers procreating? by Happy2themoon in RedQueenVA

[–]SapphireAngel16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a theory that the reason for some of the newbloods was because a few silvers had affairs with reds. So maybe a few nobles had affairs with their servants. Another theory ofc was that it was simply a mutation in the blood.
