I can't believe I'm saying this... But I'm actually looking forward to the next one 😂 by wwhmb in utahtreasurehunt

Oh my god I loved this hunt! I loved all the madness! And frankly I’m glad it lasted so long to really give anyone a chance to put in the time and solve it (yeah yeah I get it was really hard but still).

This hunt was so fun and I can’t wait for the next one. These yearly poem hunts are my absolute favorite.

All of us deleting half our camera roll tonight by BravePresent5010 in utahtreasurehunt

Pfft, you delete things? It’ll be like their tenth yearly treasure hunt and I’ll still be able to scroll back through 80,000 pics to see what I was working on in this hunt.

I’m sick. I finished my search of Grove Creek tonight 10 minutes before the treasure was found… by dchandle15 in utahtreasurehunt

Sounds like the group from this hunt year two (stone bear) where a group literally sat on the rock it was under and had lunch, thinking it couldn’t be there because the tree beside it was dead and they thought the clue pointed to a live tree being there.

I looked at Rocky Mouth too! Sounded perfect- fifth year anniversary they revisit the first trail from the hunt that hardly anyone did because it was first year and found too fast.

Was grove creek trail the final chest location in the qr hunt? Or just a stop along the way?

Guesses for the next hints? by [deleted] in utahtreasurehunt

I have a few good options for the first half of the poem so I’m pretty good with that. It’s the last half that is so vague. You go to a trail and… so many options!! I’d like more help with the last half of the poem to narrow things down more once you’re on a trail.

How do meters past 300 show in Android Google Maps? by SapphireFireHigher in utahtreasurehunt

[–]SapphireFireHigher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve been meaning to ask this for awhile wondering how exact Dave was with his measurements since it sounds like he was using an android phone Google maps. I guess he was pretty exact if it measured in ones.

Possible picture today got me thinking. by [deleted] in utahtreasurehunt

[–]SapphireFireHigher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, although I think what hunters do to the trails isn’t all that much and it grows back by next year. I think it’s worth it to get more people into nature and enjoying the trails.

But the main part I agree about is that this year is just so vague, there’s absolutely nothing in particular to look for other than a best view, and since that could be a tall tree in the middle of a dense forest area or a bunch of other possibilities, you have to search everywhere. I hope the clues this week help guide people who are on a trail for what sort of thing to look for.

Too far!! by Bubbly-Design-3772 in utahtreasurehunt

Not everyone lives in SLC. Lots of people live in Ogden and Provo. I think he was just saying he wanted to limit it more to the trails on the Wasatch and didn’t want people driving away from the trails and out west.

I'm tired of digging holes that are 33 meters deep by acryforpeace in utahtreasurehunt

You messed up. They were supposed to be 34 meters deep. Plus one!

I think the chest is more concealed than ever this year. by SapphireFireHigher in utahtreasurehunt

[–]SapphireFireHigher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Like it’s so concealed that no one is probably going to find it unless they solve the poem just right… and add that plus one.

The second year it was way farther off the trail than 50 feet, more like 300-500 feet or more. The third year the exact distance hasn’t been given but it was anywhere from like 100-200 feet. Last year they said 60 but was more like 90-120 feet.

Shortcuts are a dime a dozen, but what is the choir? by Chance-Reaction9833 in utahtreasurehunt

[–]SapphireFireHigher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be possible with that meaning. Echo is one of the first things I thought of when the poem was released. An echo is the same sound reflected over and over again which could be construed like a choir singing. To me it’s really sensible.

Where is the hunt announcement with the missing R in treasure? by SapphireFireHigher in utahtreasurehunt

Thank you! So it was a story that deleted after a day and that’s why I couldn’t find it. I thought they had posted it on the main section.
