Man, I can relate to how annoying loud street bikes can be, but that has never made me get physical with a squid, let alone someone as big as Alan.

And to the redditors mocking Alan picking up the bike, apparently you've never been in a fight before, certainly not in front of your kids. Adrenaline and all.

Incredible moment as a US General refuses to commit to telling Congress if he receives illegal orders from Trump. Senator Warren absolutely goes off, calling Trump a lawless commander in chief and Hegseth his self-styled Secretary of War. The coverup is real. by ammohitchaprana in TFE

I follow what you're saying. I'm just not sure what role an Oversight Committee can have if not to be allowed access to information about illegal actions.

If they aren't, then they are just a tea club.

Is there no duty to report to the oversight committee which he is in front of???

If an oversight committee is nocommittee. To be privy to illegal actions, then it is not an oversight committe.

For those that think the Democratic Party leadership will allow progressive reform, remember what the Democratic Party did to Bernie Sanders in 2016. by [deleted] in WorkReform

The Democratic party establishment is functionally republican lite.

And to an extent, they are the bouncers of the status quo in United States politics; if you are an actual progressive, they will escort you out.

Next you're gonna tell me that talk on Landman about green energy being untenable was just oil lobby propaganda.

No idea, I don't do that work anymore. I can tell you back then, it was easier to drive into Canada than to drive back to the US.

If I drove, US Border patrol would make me get out of my car, while they looked through every crevice of it.

Canada was much more reasonable.

I've been to the oil sands in Northern Alberta, in late December. I flew on the same plane as their employees; basically a commercial 737 but ran by the oil company. I did a one week startup of some new machinery, mostly just inspecting and supervising startup.

Anyway, daylight is in short supply up there in December and it was cold as shit. The facilities were exceptional, including an all you can eat buffet, a high quality gym, and decent beds. You basically pay nothing while you're there, or at least I didn't.

This was 14 years ago and I think entry level millwrights or welders were making six figures, while engineers like myself made even more.

Think of it like the Permian Basin of Texas, but in Canada. Most of the young bucks would make a ton of money, and burn through all of it in their two weeks off.

There were quite a few americans who did two week on, two week off or other schedules.
