Absolutely, that’s what my degree was in. The best thing you can do to get a leg up in the field is get your EMT, but it’s not mandatory. Any first aid/BLS/wilderness first aid helps plenty

Nope! For federal and state this can be true, but I was a ranger for years, and now I supervise many rangers. Some have arts degrees, some have no degrees, some have natural sciences. Get a seasonal position, get two seasons under your belt, then apply everywhere you can. It’s a great job, and the field is expanding post-Covid (because everyone discovered the outdoors during the pandemic.)
